So @uncannycory sent me an unintentionally cursed image of the sleep par-CAL-ysis demon in their home and it took me a conversation about it to realise 1) the image was not rotated and 2) there was NOT in fact an albino spider-skull demon strangling Lil Cal. ((That's actually a smuppet being distorted by the night shadows, the 'spider legs' are the smuppet hair.))

I fail the Rorschach test by seeing puppet torture.

oh my god, thanks so much! yeah, haha, my iPad got RUN OVER (no shit) and then I lost it and I guess I kind of stopped digital? I think I felt like my art was getting worse, but I think I’m out of the artblock now :)

yeah, I have a bunch of sketches that I’m hoping to paint :D (btw, homestuck and I are still in a committed relationship but this gay little book came and stole all of my waking thoughts >:|

For the coloring commission, i have a sketch that i think would be neat as hell colored (if and when i ever have extra cash) but would asking for you to do the line work for it be extra? It is a pretty clean sketch but def nothing finished

I color in my own rough sketches all the time tbh. I wish I could offer doing lines, but the reason I’m doing color only commissions atm is bc I’m physically struggling to get lines down even for my own drawings due to my tics! X’O I could probably clean up a little bit where it’s needed most, but would charge a bit more.

But! I have tons of pics that I have that were rough but I color anyway! I just fill in the blanks a bit! :P (the shading and lighting usually helps a lot with those so you don’t even look much at the lines!)

I dont know what he thought would happen. After peek upd8 culture ended the homestuck update prophet told us how they knew there would be an upd8 before it happened. he apparently hosted a lot of the images on an old style forum that was overrun with pornbots before it got posted to mspa. He KNOWS how messed up his back end was, what did he think would HAPPEN if he just ... deleted it? Nothing about how he ran that site was conventional. I just hope he was ready for that.

Imaging being the fucking Viz Media IT guy getting called on Memorial Day because they have to come in and save Homestuck.

In very early interviews Hussie said he kept all of Homestuck essentially in his head, without any planning documents. I have a pet theory that, because of the kickstarter and other life stuff, he lost his entire headspace "notes" and was never really able to fully put it back together

I remember seeing an interview where he said if he ever had to go on a long hiatus it would permanently throw him off and that sure happened.

Act 6 is where homestuck started falling apart undetmr the weight of itself imo. The formula HAD to change, if jt kept at the pace it had been going at it would still be going today, but i dont think hussie was a skilled enough writer to make that change smoothly

Yeah, he had to be more straightforward about some stuff to get the information out there (although sinking a bunch of time into Openbound for 12 mostly pointless characters was an Odd choice) but whether he pulled it off... I think it’s a matter of taste, but I do think act 6 is noticeably different stylistically from earlier acts, especially when reading archivally, and depending on what you liked about the early comic some of those elements may be missing later on.

Yeah, I’m finding that out. o.O I mean, I don’t MIND, more of my audience is on Tumblr than is on Facebook.
