"...sit back, open your ears, and hold on tight, because you're about to take a quick detour thru Uncanny County." Uncanny County (@uncannycounty ) is an original fiction podcast. The show features a different stand alone story each episode, and some occasional reoccurring characters, like Sheriff Rowland, who keeps losing deputies, like Cecil in Nightvale loses interns. From a woman who programs a town full of robots, the clown motel that's a gateway to a dimension full of evil clowns, to Bill, the car wash owner/lawyer/Deus ex machina, Uncanny County is just that, uncanny! Though the pandemic set them back for a time, they were able to release a few mini-sodes while they work out how to record during COVID. I've just been patiently foot tapping my way to season 3. Audio quality is good, and the cast of characters are as delightful as they are slightly off from reality as we know it. There's nothing quite like it, but it's a bit like if the old Sci-fi Channel tv show, Eureka, suddenly became a podcast about a county in the Southern US. Kind of. Humorous, horror, spec fic? Uncanny County defies definition in the best possible way.
