heyo just a psa: gc2b is not safe anymore. old binders from them are fine but new ones are way lower quality and will almost certainly mess up your ribs (think warping or breaks). don't get binders from amazon because they also tend to be dangerous. underworks seems to have maintained their good ratings, so if you need a binder consider going with them, and remember to always do your own research :D

Underworks Bugs, who now travel the ruined Citadel in search of their true salvation and promise land to belong in. They call themselves "Choir of Redeemed".

So, there’s a reason I called it Schrödinger's Dies iræ.

I’m of two minds on this: I almost, almost, hear the Dies iræ in Choral Chambers but it lifts towards the end instead of the established lower note progression of the true Dies iræ.

It’s there and it’s not.

And that’s really interesting for this particular track because of what function the Citadel as a whole, and the Choral Chambers in specific, serve in the story Silksong tells. I think the Dies iræ is not in the Choral Chambers track for the same reason it’s not in the Underworks track: “For Pharloom eternal, a bug who serves must never die.”

Dies iræ is not present in either of these musical compositions (Underworks + Choral Chambers) because death is forbidden in order for the machine of the Citadel to perpetuate itself.

And at the same time, the Dies iræ IS present in the Choral Chambers—with a twist—because undeath pervades the Citadel in its entirety through the Haunting.

Is Dies iræ there and not there in the Choral Chambers because it’s an obfuscation of the presence of death?

pharloomblr art week time!: today is… un-angst

one sub-community(?) that i really like is all the underworkers. all of these running-on-fumes fools in service to endless toil and work… and we love em’ for it. always such a blast to see interactions between them all.

real pity how many of them are now either dead or divided from the rest, so here’s them all together for the prompt! from left-to-right…

was tempted to add @twelfth-architect-official in here as well… honestly i should have as they’re still apart of the underworks crew i’d say, perhaps even being a figurehead to the whole operation. but… alas, twelfth has no standing sprite and i couldn’t be bothered to freelance one.

pretty proud of this one even if i skimped on some areas… what we thinking of it all?
