"Finding this warm light glowing brightly through these cold and dark ruins fills you with DETERMINATION"
//Ok because Tumblr sucks and can’t hold a 2 minute video for some reason, I had to post it on youtube.
So.. This is the Ferum Prototype I’ve been making on Unity. Took me about 1 and a half months to get this thing to work and program all the stock assets, and it’s still really really buggy. (Stay in that corner like a good boy Treecko)
It’s essentially a top down, combat oriented dungeon crawler where you can control 2-3 characters as a team. You can switch between characters or command a character to do an assist move of your choosing (That’s the slow-mo parts if you can see them).
Each player & enemy has armor which, if destroyed, stuns the enemy for a decently long time. I got a lot of my kills by stunning the enemy if you look at the video.
So.. hopefully I can continue refining this. I may need to hire an animator or an artist though cause.. these stock animations just outright suck. It also has no sound effects either and pretty weird controls
Anyways, here you go! (Please be nice)
Unity Project
okay hi!! So i’ve decided to start working on something to make this fandom feel a bit more, together i guess? I don’t wanna say united lmao that’s cheesy but!! that’s essentially what it is!!
So I made a blog! @unifiedmarvel !! It’s just the beginnings, but I want to create a place where everyone is able to talk a feel included! This means creators and non-creators. I’m planning on having multiple mods/admins to help me out on this, and hopefully it’ll be a really positive community for everyone!
The plan is to let creators tag us in whatever they make, and we’ll reblog it and get it out there! I might create masterlists of moodboards, fics, art, etc to make everything easily accessible. For non-creators, it’s a place to ask for advice on anything! It’ll be a place where people can start to feel confident and get what they want to say/create out there!
It’s not gonna up and running right away, I still need help and ideas from people, and I’d really like to get some mods on board!! If you want to be a mod, message me! I can’t promise that everyone who messages me will be a mod, and I am going to do an “interview” of sorts (nothing crazy, just a few questions over tumblr messenger to make sure ur chill!) but otherwise! It’s all about positivity!
So! Spread the word! I’m gonna be tagging mutuals to try and get this out there, and seriously, if you’re interested send me a message! It shouldn’t be too overbearing, and it’s nothing like a job or anything. There’ll be responsibilities, and I’ll go over them all when people message me, but! It’s nothing big, and it’ll basically be like running a sideblog (except easier bc u have lots of people to help you!)
Alright! Tagging some mutuals rn!

//Well... I designed my first enemy today (The big red box at the end)
Worked on him the entire day too.
And I freaking hate him.
But hey, I made a lot of improvements from the last build! Filmed the entire prototype.
//Ok. I think I got the big fight at the end to work pretty well and be a good demonstration of the combat. (Enemies are pink when they’re charging)
Essentially there are 3 attacks that the player can use in any given moment with their own cooldowns and mana cost. Some of these have their own properties.
Melee Attack: Self explanatory. Its the orange rectangle you see sticking out of the green cube. Does 1 damage a hit and gives slight knockback to enemies. Costs nothing, but pretty reliable.
Slow Zone: The player creates a yellow zone where everything inside it will be slowed except the player. No other properties will change except for the speed (and maybe trajectory, but thats a bug). The slow zone itself has a health bar, with every attack by enemy AND player attacks taking it down by one. (It has 3 in total). When the slow zone implodes, it does 2 damage to objects inside the zone EXCEPT the person who does the last hit.
(Note: Do not see Slow zones as shields, see them as spider webs / traps)
Pause Shock: A very fast, and short ranged blue shock that emanates from player. All enemies / enemy attacks in the zone will be paused and gain certain properties. This pause will either last a fixed duration or be broken by the player’s actions
Enemies:
Will be paused during fixed attacks / “animations”, meaning they’ll execute the entire attack they were in before pausing (Can be seen when the enemy tries to charge at me)
Attacking an enemy will break a pause and do normal damage to the enemy
Bumping into an enemy will break a pause and do damage to the player.
Enemy Attacks / Projectiles:
Paused projectiles will become platforms that both the enemy and player can use
For projectiles that terminate on hitting a platform, paused projectiles can acts as shields for these projectiles
No way to officially break their pauses
Migrating From Unity to Other Game Engines
The world of game development is dynamic, constantly evolving with new technologies and tools. For many developers, Unity has been a reliable workhorse, providing robust features and a strong community. However, the landscape of game engines is vast and varied, offering unique capabilities that might better align with specific project needs or creative visions. As such, migrating from Unity to other game engines can be a strategic move, opening up new possibilities and enhancing the development process.
