Another eerie groan made him whirl around, only to see several more undead shuffling out of their hidden corners. Uranus bit back a hissed sound and instead darted his eyes around the street, searching for a saving grace. But there was nothing, and for one horrible moment Uranus wondered if he’d somehow stumbled into his own death—if he’d killed one of the undead only to add himself to their numbers.

And then he heard a hissed shout and jolted his head to the side to see a silhouetted figure beckoning him into the open door of one of the storefronts. Uranus let his eyes dart between the person and the undead for a couple seconds before darting for the person. At least if they killed him, it’d likely be quick, rather than being eaten alive..

Or; Uranus is caught up in trouble and saved by the last person he expects. And then it turns into so much more than that.
