SHELTER UPDATE 7/2/21 + MEDICAL NOTES: We have some good news for you all but not great news. The good news is that Jack went to the overnight emergency clinic last night & was able to stay for observation. He did much better & was able to come back to the shelter this morning. What would have made the news great is if we were able to tell you he had a rescue which as of yet, he does not. He is still in need of one though. His left eye is also an issue & will need medication that we don’t have here. So in an effort to save his other eye & his vision, he is still in need of an immediate rescue pull. Please, help this guy, he is really a very happy boy with lots of energy & love to share. Medical notes: 7/1/21 Proptosis (bulging eye) secondary to glaucoma Tonopen (eye pressure measurement)- OD: 60, OS: 30. Both eyes are affected. Recommend immediate rescue as other eye will need to be medicated to save vision & medication is not available here. SF approved enucleation of non-viable OD with neuter- was performed today. They have more dogs that will be coming in due to dogs running away from the noise of the fireworks. The 4th is one of the highest intake times of the year and there isn’t enough kennel space. Dog is very high energy & playful however is very high energy & no manners. Dog jumped up on tables, would jump up in my face & headbutt me. Hard to get leash to return to kennels & difficult to get back into kennel. Dog does not understand correction or commands yet. JS ** Dog will do best with an experienced handler. Adopters need to have time to train him. 09/17/20 High energy & stimulated!! Nice dog, but really needs behavior training...JD 09/15/20 Moved pet form C12 to B12 .Pet is overly stimulated with all the other barking. Pet has extremly high energy & is not well at leashing or walking on leash. He needs tons of training or an experienced owner to handle him. He is loud in kennels as well. He will push against kennel door to get out. didnt show aggression but is very strong & wasnt mouthy at this time. not recommended for families with small children. needs someone active and that has a large yard for him to play in.
