I’m not even American, but when my friend from NYC messaged me to tell me the news this afternoon, I can’t describe the feeling. It’s like a weight has been lifted, and the relief I feel for y’all is just beyond. I know that Biden isn’t the ideal candidate and he’s a right leaning moderate at best, but to see him give his victory speech, and give thanks for that victory to black, Hispanic, Native American, Queer, Transgender and disabled people was something I think a lot of people have been waiting to hear for a long time. I still have fear and worries for you, because I know the fight for equality is no where near over and divisions are still prominent, but for the first time in four years I have hope, and I hope that for a few days, this optimism will help ease the tragedy of this year.
