Anyways, meet the skeleton family! (WIP design)

Grandma Hardinge (Redacted),

They/it/She

it's very old - it was around before the war. She isn't even a skeleton! She's a phantom (type of undead monster) & why gaster doesn't have a nose - she doesn't have a nose either. She wears a long black robe... Dress? Undecided. I don't think she has hands either, she may use her hair to manipulate things! She's a little rusty in her own font (Hardinge) so she speaks in wingdings most of the time, but she'll make an effort to refresh her mind, she wants to connect with her grandsons after all!

Grandpa Semi, Semi serif

He/him

Tired old southern Grandpa, not as old as Hardinge, definitely not, but still elderly. He was born underground & he's never seen the sun. He thought Gaster's fascination with the surface was just a dream brought about from Hardinge's stories & hopeless reminiscing but he was actually proud of him when he became the royal scientist. He doesn't have a hatred for humans, he remembers the days of the first human child that was found. They seemed like a sweet child but a little shaken, no one was really sure what to make of them - to be honest it didn't even really seem like they came from the surface.

Gaster's childhood made him sterner, dealing with a not entirely corporeal baby that can teleport & fade away at will probably does that to a person. Sans & papyrus were a bit different though. The two used to play pranks on him when they were younger, while he was grumpy he wasn't bitter, he'd join along when his old bones would allow. I'm not sure about his magic right now

W.D. Gaster

He/him

Proud father and former Royal scientist! Gaster is a phantom & a skeleton! He can go non-corporeal whenever he pleases as well as teleportation. He wears a white turtleneck and a long black robe, his hands are separate from his body and usually float near his form. He retired from the role of Royal scientist not long after having his children, though no fully as he helped tutor alphys for her new role. He moved to Snowdin with his boys when Papyrus was around 11 years old as he was looking for a fresher start than what the capital had to offer. Hardinge & Semi moved in a bit after - to get closer with their grandsons.

Semi, "The surface? BAH! What's the point? These old bones don't see no point in leavin' the caverns. Why go up there, I heard the temperature can change on a whim! If I wanna be boiled I'll go to hotland. But... Suppose' I can't be to stubborn. Good job yougin'."

Hardinge, "I... Am glad....I...can see...the...Sun....again...a thousand...years...is a....long....long time..."

Gaster, "Amazing! I can't believe we'll finally see the surface, do you think they'll be interested in my theories? What kind of technology do you have up there? I should stop rambling... Good job, human."

UTMV Sanses if they were bugs 🐛🪲🪰🦗

WARNING: lots of bugs under cut:

I love bugs and I love utmv so I’m gonna combine that. This list is mostly based on vibe and colours, since I don’t know how every bug species on this list behaves and that would complicate things even more. We're also going to pretend the sizes of the bugs are not as different as they are irl (I'm not spending another 2 hours finding height-accurate bugs for them)

And to start us off:

Nightmare would be a Common Blue Mud Dauber because even though making him a pretty moth is always a good idea, I feel like he should have some sort of defence mechanism. Also, mud daubers are pretty solitary, and I think that fits him (other bug option: Urania Swallowtail Moth)

Dream is a Mud Dauber (not sure what sub species the one in the picture is) because he needs to at least be in the same species as Nightmare, and because he should be allowed to kill. Mud daubers are also very elegant looking, so it works out (other bug option: Swallow-tailed Moth)

Error would be a Red-marked Pachodynerus Wasp because come on, you can't tell me he wouldn't be a wasp or hornet. Short-tempered and aggressive, he’s the spitting image of a wasp

Ink is an Oak Hawk Moth, cuz oooh fluffy little guy oooh. And cuz he’s chaotic and loud like any good hawk moth

Horror would be a Japanese Rhinoceros Beetle because big, strong beetle, and it's kinda brown/red???

Killer would be a White-faced Darter because I love using the black & red combo for him, and I think he should be allowed to fly very fast and annoy people that way

Dust is a Common Awl Robberfly because, haha, dust and flies, no one likes dust or flies in their house. Ok, but it does fit, you can't deny that (other bug option: Phantom Cranefly, but mostly cuz of the name)

Cross is a Ghost cicada because he’s very strong and sturdy, just like a cicada. It might make more sense if I make him a beetle, but there's not a lot of sturdy-looking black & white beetles that I know of

Blue is also a cicada, but he’s a Zammara Cicada (idk which kind exactly, but the main point is that he’s blue)! He's also a very strong guy, but he’s shorter than Cross, and this cicada looks short lmao

Fresh is an East Asian Tiger Beetle! Sadly, I could not find another dangerous-looking rainbow bug, so you're getting this guy. I also chose to get a predatory insect cuz Fresh is a parasite that eats people and whatnot

Lust would be a Pink Grasshopper, but I don't know exactly what species, and it doesn't really matter cuz the point is that he's pink

Sci would be a Green Tortoise Beetle (idk what kind the one in the picture is) because he's pretty shy and tortoise beetles look like nerds

Core would be a Twenty-spotted Lady Beetle because she looks kind, but can and will kill, just like a ladybug (did you know ladybugs are carnivorous? I bet you didn't). Also, black & white bug

Reaper would be a Citrus Longhorn Beetle because I couldn't find a big black moth or butterfly for the life of me, and this is the next best thing. I guess it kinda fits tho cuz longhorn beetles are predators and stuff

Geno is a Zebra Swallowtail Butterfly because he needs to be soft and fragile, and there aren't a lot of other bugs that are completely white with red markings (I'm not making him a spotted lanternfly that would go against my interpretation of him and also fuck you fuck you fuck you)
