My old persona 3 Sonic AU (click to better see, this is an entire sketchbook page it can be hard to see)
This is the characters with the first time they used their Wisps. Wisps? Yep, they don't use personas, they uses Wisps that are trapped into some sort of gun like weapon. The Wisps as to choose them still and allow them to use their powers. They're trapped into guns because Wisps power can be overwhelming. Thus, their power needs to be controlled and it's to avoid them rebelling against their user.
Wispon! That's the name. They all have wispons-type weapons but a bit more... cruel and forceful.
The character that is able to create a relationship with many wisps is MC (because, the fool card and all). The stronger the bond with a wisp is, the stronger they are.
The ball at the top is an entryway or an exit to conserve the Wisp. (It's like a pokéball, hehe)
Then the lore of how they were created pretty much follows the Persona 3 lore, with scientists studying how can someone acquire and control a wisps, and all that. So, just replaced the Evoker with some type of Wispon made to summon a wisp.

It's my biggest dream to be a parent and if I was doing something otherwise meaningful maybe I'd feel more patient but I just feel frustrated and stuck at home like a loser

Switch Stories Crashout :PPPPPPP
Why why why why is switch never growing and learning from their fear of deserting each other. You know in your hearts that you never want to make each other feel neglected, and now rarely ever neglect each other, and when it happens it's by accident, but they all still freak out and say "let's never do that again" and "don't worry I know you never meant to do that, that's what matters to me."
But then they do it AGAIN and are still just as shocked that it happened. Real people have their bad habits and traumas that cause them to repeat actions that hurt people they love, but it doesn't repeat so similarly every time like it does with switch's stories.
I haven't fully dismantled the differences between how this would play out in a real-world situation that makes the enstars version feel so plastic and fickle, but there has to be a breaking point where the dynamic shifts to be realistic, and that breaking point just never comes for switch.
The characters have all had development, but if narratively they haven't learned from their mistakes since post war yumenosaki, then what's the point. They're all just as worried about losing each other or hurting each other as they were back then despite 2 years worth of proving they intend to stick together and only want to make the others feel loved.
It feels like they have some big switch narrative-shifting event that just never came. Every story is a different setting to convey the same message or theme. It feels like I'm reading a children's book about making mistakes and forgiving your friends over and over.
Maybe they had an event that would change them from here on out but it was disapproved, or maybe they still have it in the queue but won't release it until they have another time of people getting sick of the game or sick of their company, to use as damage control. I don't know.
I have very mixed feelings about the Wish event but I thought the Wish event was going to be a turning point for them, where they realize for real that they aren't going to leave each other, it's a new promise to stay together, and a solidifcation that they had spent enough time together to know their true intentions are to never hurt or leave each other. But it's still the fucking same afterwards! 😭
I thought they'd have learned through exposure that their fear of separating was not going to be fulfilled, and not flare up as often, and that fear/issue to address would be replaced with a few different new ones to learn from in the future. But no!
Eeeevery switch event I wait for another message, another lesson learned, a different conflict besides them being separated but it n e v e r c o m e s . This is a fear that's very deep in their hearts, that's why it always comes up. I know that. And I know like only 4 years of game time has occurred within TEN actual years.
But that's part of what makes it so frustrating! I look back and see 10 years of the same issue, the issue has barely shifted or changed meaning. If you want character growth to feel real, the problem or fears they face have to change with them and be influenced with the things they go through.
Maybe the fear of hurting or leaving each other is so point blank it's hard to do that. But I don't think so.
Either way nothing they've been through together (that I can think of at the moment) literally since the war and some of the year after that has been enough to make their fear feel real and actually irk something in me.
If they had more events that actually shook the foundation maybe the shock value or narrative effect of it would make their struggles feel warranted of all the apologizing and codependent watching out for each other. But they are pretty codependent, that's just the less pretty side of Switch.
But why don't they work on not becoming so destabilized when away from each other briefly or have a kind of growth that brings up another fear/whatever macguffin-y thing is needed to progress the story.
I DONT KNOW!!😭 I DONT KNOW!
Lmao!!!!!! I can't be bothered.
I think I'm going to have to start writing stories myself to keep from just giving up on them. They have so much nuance yet they're shoved into the same story over and over. And WHERE is the details about Sora's past. I want more about him. We know he was a hikkikomori, was bullied, used games to cope, Natsume met him and never wanted to see him go that low again, what else. Dig deeper on it!!!
This is part of why I'm doing analysis posts about them, so I can write them well and understand the conflicts and fears of switch other than just "they don't want to leave each other behind" or "they're afraid of making the others feel forgotten", which those are fine and make sense for them, but I don't want to see that every time.
It's a deep part of switch but that doesn't mean that theme shouldn't change or evolve in some way. I'm so TIRED of seeing them worry about each other and worry about losing each other EVERY time.
Isn't like 4 years enough for at least one of you to know it's not over every time something bad happens, you aren't a terrible person for getting busy or you're not a terrible person for losing each other somewhere or for having to do solo work or for snapping at somebody who obviously loves you unconditionally and has faith in you to grow more patient with time or for
I can't think about this right now *continues to think about it*
