🕯️
Like the white camellias blooming stubbornly against the winter frost right outside the window.
As he watched you secretly, he saw the masks slip. When you smiled briefly at your mother, a profound tenderness softened your expression, chasing away the rigid formality. When your brother attempted to speak out of turn, a sharp spark of annoyance flashed through your eyes.
You were human. Intensely alive. You were not merely Director Yoon's obedient, hollow doll.
🕯️
"Pour another cup."
You blinked, momentarily frozen as the breath caught in your throat. "Father?"
His unyielding gaze remained steady, boring into you with a finality that brooked no hesitation.
"For your future husband."
The words hung heavily in the silence of the room. Your eyes instinctively flickered across the table, meeting the dark, bottomless gaze of Captain Kim Taehyung. He didn't move. He didn't speak. He simply sat there, watching you with an intense, unreadable calm as the reality of your fate settled between you like stone.
The words struck like a harsh winter wind, cutting straight through the fragile warmth of the room.
🕯️
"Oh." Your breath hitched, the word catching in your throat. You looked at the heavy gold band resting on your finger—his mother's ring. Your fingers twisted tighter. "...Then, what should I call you?"
A rare, fleeting flicker of uncertainty crossed his stoic features—the very first crack in his military armor you had ever witnessed.
"Taehyung is fine," he said, his voice dropping into a softer, lower register.
The sheer unfamiliarity of his given name felt incredibly heavy, almost sacred, as it settled awkwardly upon your tongue. "...Taehyung."
His gaze instantly shifted away, staring out into the dark garden as if he were equally unprepared for the raw intimacy of hearing you speak his name. He cleared his throat quietly. "You... can continue calling me Captain Kim if you prefer it."
🕯️
Taehyung turned around slowly to face you, the shadow of his broad shoulders stretching tall across the paper screens. "No, Y/N," he replied, his deep voice dropping into an impossibly soft, patient register. "I told you before. I do not want you to spend the night feeling uncomfortable or crowded."
"I won't be." Your gaze dropped to your hands, your fingers tightly gripping the edge of your quilt as a fierce, betraying blush crept up your neck. "I... I won't feel uncomfortable with my own husband."
🕯️
"I have you, Y/N," he whispered softly, his grip tightening just a fraction, holding you as though you were the most precious, fragile thing in the entire world. "Close your eyes. The storm cannot reach you here."
Wrapped completely in his fierce protection, surrounded by his intoxicating scent of cedarwood and the steady, unyielding beat of his heart against your cheek, the terrifying thunder outside slowly faded into a distant hum. You let out a long, shuddering breath, your hands instinctively reaching up to curl into the fabric of his shirt, completely surrendering to the safety of his arms. Your father had sent you into this house to destroy him, but trapped beneath the rugs in the pitch-black midnight, you knew you would rather let the lightning strike you down before you ever let a single hand hurt the man holding you.
🕯️
The intimacy was desperate, messy, and fiercely primal. He fucked you with a consuming hunger, his mouth slamming back down onto yours to drink in your breathless moans. His long fingers tangled tightly into your unraveled hair, anchoring your head to the pillow while his other hand gripped your waist so hard his fingers left faint marks on your flushed skin.
You wrapped your legs tightly around his broad waist, pulling him deeper, completely surrendering to the wicked, maddening pleasure he was coaxing out of your body. The boundaries of reality dissolved entirely.

Sticky Note
The often unheard and silenced buzzes of Y/N’s most detested possession echoed through her bedroom loudly and not to mention proudly this morning. However, to the alarm’s dismay, it wasn’t its constant blaring that woke Y/N up.
A pounding headache, an annoying sore throat and perpetual sneezes which refused to die down, forced Y/N to get out of bed. With great difficulty, she somehow managed to make her way to the restroom. She blows her nose, washes her face with some warm water and looks at her reflection on the mirror. Her nose was red, eyes sunken, and her pale face was slightly swollen. She walks back to her bed contemplating if she should call in for a sick day.
“Okay I feel like shit right now.”
“Should I really go to work?” She asks herself while running a hand through her hair.
“What if I get nauseous at work?”
“I might faint.”
“I have a splitting headache. Which means my mind will be foggy and unclear. I might end up doing something ridiculous.”
“However…” She begins as an unreasonable thought of something, or rather someone crosses her mind.
“…there’s quite a lot of unfinished, pending work that I cannot risk missing.”
“There’s also Mr Kim…” She says as her lips curl up the slightest bit and a glint in her eyes appears and vanishes as quickly as her dilemma.
“I…” She says in deep thought.
“…am going to work.” She finishes with a silly little smile across her face.
She went through careful consideration and rational thinking, only to choose a side that would later, disappoint her physical and mental state of well-being thoroughly. She reassured herself that she was going to work just for work. Or was she?
***
“Achoo!” Y/N sneezes for what may be the four millionth time that day. Her sneezes reverberate through the entire meeting room as the people in it gave her either concerned or uncomfortable looks. After muttering multiple excuse me-ies and sorry-ies, she thanks God for being capable of producing the most ungraceful and unignorably loud sneezes which had the potential to erupt volcanoes or create earthquakes.
A short while later, the meeting finally ends, and Y/N finds herself exiting the meeting room at the speed of light. She heads towards the restroom making sure she doesn’t make eye contact with anybody so that she doesn’t end up engaging herself in an unnecessary, oddly timed small talk while trying to suppress an obnoxious cough.
She successfully reaches the restroom, grabs fifteen tissues or so and blows out her nose. She pops a cough drop into her mouth before resting her palms on the sink’s counter and raises her head to look at herself in the mirror. She sighs and shakes her head.
‘I shouldn’t have come today.’
Aaand here we go, the infamous look of regret. If someone took a shot every time Y/N regretted coming to work today, they’d be knocked out by the end of it.
She leaves the restroom and reaches Taehyung’s office within no time. She was supposed to fax some documents which had his signatures. To her surprise and relief he wasn’t inside the office. She thought this was better because he wouldn’t have to see her in such a pathetic state. Although she knew it was unrealistic of her to expect that, since he's her boss and they see each other more often than an actual couple.
She finds the files on the coffee table and walks towards them. And as it was bound to happen, another sneeze makes its grand debut and Y/N stops to cover her nose. From the corner of her eye, she notices a hand extending out from behind her, holding a kerchief that was neatly ironed and folded.
“You alright there?” Taehyung asks and Y/N suddenly gets a tiny bit self-conscious.
She turns around, takes the kerchief, and thanks Taehyung. She wipes her nose with the light blue cotton cloth and wonders if her nose looked red or if her eyes looked drowsy.
‘I’m pretty sure there’s booger on my nose or something.’
Not enjoying the fact that Taehyung can see this vulnerable side of her, she grabs the files from the coffee table and turns towards the door.
“I only came to take these files sir. I have to fax them.” She announces in the air and starts walking.
“Wait.”
Taehyung rushes toward Y/N and stands before her.
“You didn’t answer my question yet. Are you alright?”
Y/N’s cheeks turn a light shade of red.
“Uh yes sir, I’m alright.” She assures him with a smile and a nod.
Taehyung doesn’t say anything. In fact, a small frown appears on his face. He stares at her for a few moments, observing her face.
‘There’s definitely booger on my nose, isn’t there?’
Without a disclaimer he brings his hand up and rests the back of his palm on Y/N’s forehead to check for temperature.
The colour on Y/N’s cheeks deepens as she processes what just happened. Her eyes widen slightly, and her pupils dilate. She was glad they were inside his office and the blinds on the large glass panes were closed because oh boy, if someone saw this, the hot topic for the employees’ next gossip session would undoubtedly be her.
“Oh God you’re burning up!” Taehyung exclaims in shock as he moves his hand away from her face.
“Uh- well, I feel okay sir, don’t worry.”
“What do you mean okay? Y/N you have a high fever. Why did you come to work?”
“I…” Y/N clears her throat and continues. “…took some medication in the morning sir, I’m alright now.”
Truth to be told, she was not alright. Her state was the same as before, if not it was worse. A train of thought occupied entirely with regret, stops by at her platform of peace. Disappointed with her poor choice of actions and unrealistic expectations of avoiding her boss at work, Y/N curses herself silently.
“I’m totally okay sir!” Y/N says in pretentious cheer as she lifts her hand to form a thumbs up. She swiftly exits the room before Taehyung could say a word.
***
“Why don’t we take a small break?”
Completely bothered by Y/N’s incessant sneezes, Taehyung abruptly suggests a break during the course of a meeting. He looks at Y/N who sat beside him with concern, as the employees who were scattered around the room, left one by one to have something at the cafeteria.
He gets up from his chair and walks out towards a small kitchen counter where he finds a kettle and fills it with water. After some time, he pours it into a glass, walks back to the conference room and places it on the table for Y/N.
Taehyung had eventually come to terms with the idea of deceiving Y/N, because unfortunately marriage was the only thing stopping him from living his life as the CEO of Kim Enterprises. Taehyung tried his best to be the ‘ideal dating material’ as coined by Jin and hence decided to execute any and every sweet gesture that may seem appealing to Y/N. Whether or not it was working, he had know clue.
However, the smile that appears on Y/N’s face after she noticed the glass of water might actually mean that it's working.
Pre-occupied by her sickness which had impeccable timing, she hastily mutters a 'thank you’ before, you guessed it, sneezing a few more times and sipping on the hot water.
As the water flows down her throat, she feels her sinuses clear, leaving her with a not-so-runny nose. The hot water melts the irritation in her throat away and momentarily brings her a great sense of comfort. Something which seemed impossible to attain today.
“Y/N you should take a half day.”
Y/N looks at Taehyung with a frown. When he says nothing else, she realises that he’s talking about her sickness.
“Oh sir, it’s totally alright! I’m fine.” She says with a convincing smile and dismisses his offer with a wave of her hand.
Taehyung says nothing and stares back at her.
“Besides there’s so much I have to get done. I have to go to S. A. Marketing and schedule your interview appointments, there's a training meeting later in the day, I have to proofread Minho’s correspondence and figure out Ms Rachel’s deadlines and plan accordingly for the next quarter. Oh! You also have another meeting, with Legal Corp Solutions, meaning I have to draft four reports by the end of the day.” Y/N reasoned nervously.
Taehyung closes his eyes and sighs.
“Y/N, I want you to do something more important for me. This is absolutely necessary and should be your utmost priority.”
Y/N knew what he was going to say next.
‘Go back home and rest.’
Yep, he would definitely say that. Because why wouldn’t he? A typical boss in every rom-com, who displays incongruent affection and care towards his secretary whom he barely knows. She obviously expected Taehyung to say some cliché sentences out of concern after startling her by checking her temperature earlier. She watched way too many K-dramas to predict what would happen next.
“I want you… to organise all the books and documents in my office in alphabetical order, category- wise making sure to re-arrange the files of all international deals separately, by placing them in boxes. Catalog all information from the past year and there's also a book on my desk, which I would like you to read, after which you must provide me with a detailed review of the book consisting of appropriate criticism and judgement.” He pauses to take a deep breath.
“I suggest you use my office for the entire day. Begin with the book.” He finishes with a small sly smile that Y/N failed to notice, for she was utterly nonplussed by the list of things Taehyung asked her to do.
Taehyung knew he wouldn't be able to send Y/N home. She was often adamant on her stand. However, Taehyung wasn’t going to back down just like that. He couldn’t let her do all that jazz she mentioned earlier. Which is why he assigned minimal and not to mention, useless work to keep her occupied. That way her condition wouldn't get worse than it already was. It would be boring, yes, but not as tiring. She only has to sit in his office and ‘work’. He knew it would take her all day to just finish the book.
Y/N thinks it’s some kind of a joke in the beginning and stares at Taehyung hoping that he might laugh and say “Don’t worry! I'm kidding.” However, Taehyung stares back at her with a ‘Well, what are you waiting for?’ look, after which she nods awkwardly and leaves the meeting room.
***
Y/N sits in a rubble of mess desperately trying to figure out how she would ‘catalog all the information’ from the past YEAR. She didn’t even know what kind of information she has to gather!
‘Should’ve taken a day off.’
She gave up on the book after reading four pages of it. In her dizzy and groggy state of mind she struggled just to read the introduction, let alone write a detailed review.
Channelling her inner Marie Kondo, she began segregating all the reports based on valuation, sales, investments, and finance. She works on this for a few hours making sure to carefully showcase her perfectionism despite her debilitating cold. Because that's just who she was. The kind of person to prioritize work over her deteriorating health.
Y/N flinches in fear at the sound of something other than the occasional shuffling of papers and thuds of boxes. And not to forget, her earth-shattering sneezes. She realises that the sound came from the door being unlocked and notices Taehyung walking into the office room with an IPad in his hand.
Taehyung finds her on the floor of his office, near the shelves, with papers, files, binders and what not littered on the floor. At the centre of it all, sat Y/N looking more dishevelled than ever. He mentally facepalms himself at the sight of her working tirelessly on the most useless job in the world. He expected her to get tired after arranging a few boxes and fall asleep or maybe just give up and rest. However, Y/N was oblivious to Taehyung’s foolproof plan and was determined on being the most productive person at work today.
“Oh well, hello sir.” Y/N says as she smiles with a hint of pride.
“I’m almost done…” She begins as she stands up.
“…just have to discard a few-“
“Fantastic! Job well done.” Taehyung says quickly with a meaningless smile and places his hands on his hips.
“You can go back to your desk Y/N.” He nods and gestures towards the door.
“I haven’t read the book yet sir and-“
“Aw that’s unfortunate. How about this? You can take the book, finish it today and return it tomorrow? Yes, that sounds perfect!” He finishes in one breath, grabs the book from his table hastily and urges Y/N to take it.
“Here you go.”
“Thank you, sir.” Y/N’s face falls flat. As she walks out of the room towards her desk, all she could feel was…disappointment. What was she expecting? A bone-crushing hug from her boss for cleaning his entire office for absolutely no purpose? She couldn't help but wonder why Taehyung rushed her out of his office. Or why he was so distant since the moment he heard her sneeze.
'No, he's not like that.’
The instant she finds her desk, she drops the book on it, plops herself into a chair and sighs in pain and relief. She stretches her arms out, leans back on her chair, and closes her eyes, before opening them again to look at something that caught her eye. She leans toward the desk as her forehead scrunches up in confusion. On her white wood desk, was a large coffee cup, filled to the brim with piping hot coffee. And the on the coffee cup was a bright yellow sticky note upon which a message was lettered in a familiar, pretty handwriting.
She picks up the cup to examine it closely.
Drink the coffee when it’s hot. Would help with the cold.
There are meds in the brown bag. Get some rest for now.
I’ll drop you home tonight.
Y/N’s face goes pale. And it was definitely not because of the high fever. She reads it again to make sure she read it right. A red hue appears on her face as quickly as it had faded earlier once she recognises the handwriting. Realisation dawns upon her and she understands why Taehyung rushed her to her desk. She scans the note multiple times while a grin finds its way to her face. For the first time, she didn't regret coming to work that day. She glances at the brown bag near the keyboard and takes a sip of the coffee. The hot liquid glides through her throat as she closes her eyes, sinks in her seat and groans in relief. Wanting to feel the warmth of the coffee more, she drinks the whole thing at once. Almost like a toddler who drinks milk quickly to beat their sibling at a silly little competition. She removes the sticky note from the cup and stares at it for a while, before placing it safely inside her drawer. All with a cheeky grin on her face.
She rests both her arms on the desk and lays her head on them. She thinks of how weirdly cute today was. She knew why Taehyung gave her absurd and silly tasks to keep her ‘busy’. Y/N put up with it and played along because she knew Taehyung was right. She should've taken some rest. A smile forms on her face again, when she thinks of how considerate he had suddenly become. Was it only with her? She likes to think it was. The smile only grows wider when she thinks about the sticky note. She never thought a small piece of paper with some scribbles from her boss would make her so giddy. She didn't even know if she's supposed to react that way.
Amidst contemplation, tiredness gets the best of her, and her eyes begin to feel heavier, giving in to the comforting idea of sleep. Even the substantial amount of caffeine she had a few minutes ago, doesn’t prevent her from falling into a deep slumber.
***
The warm sunlit sky starts blending into the darkness of the night. Resting against the railings of a river stood a tall man with a charming smile. The sapphire blue eyes gazed at Y/N as he extended his hand out for her to hold. She takes a step closer and places her palm in his before smiling shyly.
“Y/N.” He says in a smooth, calming tone and Y/N looks at him with anticipation.
“Wake up.”
She frowns and the man’s silhouette starts to fade. She struggles to focus on his blurring face as another, familiar person’s face sharpens. Y/N stirs in her sleep and squints her eyes to find her boss calling out her name trying to wake her up.
“Y/N, wake up.”
Upon realisation she gasps and sits up instantly.
“Good evening, sir.” She blurts out.
He chuckles and shakes his head.
“It’s way beyond evening Y/N. In fact, it’s almost ten o’clock. Come on, let me drop you home.” He says and walks towards the exit.
“Oh” Is all she manages to say as her mind tries to process all the sleep, sickness, embarrassment, and annoyance. The annoyance was due to the fact that she was almost about to have her swoon worthy romance with Brad fricking Pitt until she was woken up.
“Ugh, the onetime Brad Pitt decides to show up in my dream.” She whisper-yells in frustration while grabbing her bag and following Taehyung out of the office.
The car ride was, unsurprisingly quiet. Y/N’s unremitting sneezes finally gave up, thanks to the three-hour nap and Brad Pitt’s charming blue eyes. Both of them sat in silence and thought of how the other’s day must have gone. They barely got to see each other today.
Taehyung was relieved to see Y/N finally taking a nap after his desperate attempts to get her to rest.
Y/N was confused, to say the least. Perhaps the foggiest her mind had ever felt. Totally unprofessional and uncool was the way she’d put it. It was not the way she wanted to present herself around Taehyung.
‘NEVER go to work when sick.’ She told herself.
However, the sticky note was pleasantly surprising. The thought of the note formed a smile on her face which went unnoticed by Taehyung. Before her mind wandered off to her ‘maybe' theory, Taehyung announces abruptly.
“We’re here.”
“Oh, good night, sir.” She says and closes the door to his car.
Taehyung watches her as she crosses the road and walks into her apartment. He starts the engine, but before he drives away, something on the dashboard catches his eye.
Thank you for the coffee and medicine, sir:)
A small sentence was inscribed on a pastel pink sticky note in Y/N’s neat handwriting. A smile makes its way up to Taehyung’s face as he finds himself saving the note in his pocket before driving off in a jolly spirit.
genre: fluff (so fluffy you gon choke haha), one-shot
characters: kim taehyung, reader [you]
synopsis: you are a writer and you are having trouble writing a romantic scene, but find magic in the smallest of things.
story:
Dammit. This sucks!
You’ve tried over and over to conjure up a romantic scene for your novel; a sweet scene you hoped would make the reader curl their toes and maybe shed a tear, or two. The Notebook jumping kiss scene type of iconic.
You’ve done this a million times, in your other novels. Your readers always loved your quirky little romantic scenes – how you made the simplest gestures of love glorious with your beautifully-placed words and your penchant for simple, sometimes quiet, sweetness.
But, for some reason, it’s not happening right now. You’ve sat in front of your rickety years-old Macbook, tapping away, only to attack the Backspace button in frustration, when it sets in that none of whatever this is was enough.
You take in a deep breath. Maybe you need a break. Another cup of coffee. Maybe some chocolate for some extra dopamine.
You push your laptop farther into the table. You rub your eyes, which, by that time, have almost dried up after hours glued onto the screen.
You make your way into the kitchen, your train of thought still lost on what your scene was lacking. You’ve written the scene over and over, added some elements, chopped off a few – but you just can’t feel anything.
You go over to the fridge for some water, and maybe a chocolate bar or two. Upon opening the door, you see a bunch of chocolate bars, tied together by a red ribbon, with a green sticky note on them.
Hi Darling!
I know you need this today. Enjoy!
PS: Leave me the rice crispy ones, will you? Or at least half of one if you like them too much.
See you later.
I love you! x
Tae Tae
You smiled.
It has been a few months since you and Taehyung had begun dating. You met him at the MoMA in New York, accidentally spilling some of your iced coffee on him when you backed into him by accident. His coat looked lovely and expensive, and judging by the look on his face, you thought the whole thing would end up with you in a police station.
Tae was intimidating, alright. He had a reserved, almost blank look on his face, a smile rare and only reserved for his friends and family, or his fans. And, at the time, you were neither.
You apologized profusely, offering to have the coat dry cleaned, or replaced, even though you knew it would probably cost more than your rent for a whole month. Or two.
But Tae just smiled at you, taking in your face – brows furrowed in fear and frustration, cheeks tinged in dark pink, bright brown eyes pleading. He knew you didn’t mean it, feeling bad at how scared you looked and sounded, profusely apologizing to him.
“Hey.” He said, gently. “It’s nothing. Don’t worry about it.”
He smiled at her, then fished out a small packet of wipes from his bag. You watched as he tried his best to get the nearly dried coffee off his coat, somewhat succeeding when only a barely noticeable brown patch was left.
“You spilled your coffee.” Tae said, casually, as if the said coffee hadn’t bothered him at all.
“Are you planning on getting some more?” he asked. “I’d like some, too.”
And from then, you went on to spend the rest of your museum tour with Tae. You walked around galleries, nerded out on your favorite artists, and gladly mocked how ridiculous post-modern art was.
He then drove you back to your apartment and asked for your number, and the rest, as they say, is history.
You were afraid of the whole thing, you had to admit. You were never that fortunate when it came to dating; you were always either crushed, or ghosted, or both. And somehow, it worked wonders for your writing. Writers write better with a broken heart, don’t they?
The thought brought a small, sinking hole down in your chest. Tae was the best boyfriend. He was a busy idol, 1/7 of BTS, the biggest band in the world, yet he always made time for you; always took you out on dates, always planned trips, always went to your book launches (heavily disguised, of course), always manages to have energy left to make sure you were satisfied and could barely walk the next day.
He should be inspiring you. Why isn’t he?
You grab the bundle of chocolate bars from the fridge and grab the almond one, setting the rest back into their place in the fridge. You unwrapped the bar and bit off a mouthful, allowing yourself to enjoy the sweetness – sweetness you hope you could channel into your work.
Your eyes land on the counter, noticing Taehyung had left his portable speaker home. He always brought it with him, blasting his favorite jazz songs, much to the annoyance of Jungkook, who also brings a speaker of his own.
Music has always helped get you in the mood for romance, be it for writing or for Tae. You make your way to the counter, turning the speaker on, which automatically connects your phone. You open your Spotify, choosing a random love-themed playlist that might have a few good tracks to jog your romantic tendencies.
You stood by the counter, and a soft beat begins to fill the room.
The song was unfamiliar; but the beat was soft, dreamy. The kind you’d hear at prom. The kind you’d love to be spun around to by the love of your life under the bright moonlight, in the city limits.
Your thoughts immediately fly to Tae. He was an amazing dancer. And the sweetest man in the world. The love of your life.
Oh, would you love to dance with him.
Before you realize it, you find yourself grooving along to the song, with a silly little smile on your face. Your close your eyes, spinning around, your mind dancing around thoughts of your Taehyung and what it would be like to have him dance with you; your arms on his neck, his hands on your waist, him spinning you around, only to pull you back close to him.
As you lose yourself into you little fantasy, you feel a hand grip yours, pulling you in in one swift motion. As your senses return to reality, you found yourself face to face with Tae, a big smile on his face, his nose barely touching yours.
Before you could say a word, Tae begins to sway you both back and forth, just in time with the song. His smile was replaced by a look of love and admiration, his beautiful eyes gazing deeply into yours; Tae lays your palm on his chest, letting your feel his heartbeat go wild, in having you so close and basking in two things he loved the most in this world – you and dancing.
You close your eyes, resting your forehead on his.
“So,” Tae begins, with a chuckle. “Is this what you do when I’m not home?”
“Maybe.” you reply, with a small smile.
“I always wondered what it was like to dance… like this.” you say, nuzzling Tae’s nose.
“I’ll dance with you every day, darling.” Tae says, planting a soft, sweet kiss on your lips. “Here in our kitchen, down the street, backstage, in the Big Hit office…”
“We’ll look like idiots.” you say.
“Idiots in love.” Tae replies, in a tone of pride, seemingly correcting you. “The best kind of idiots there is.”
You bury your face into Tae’s shoulder, taking in his scent of aftershave and smoke, blissful and content. The song has long stopped, and you were probably too lost in each other you had barely noticed. Still, Tae continues to sway you both side to side, gently, content in this little moment of nothing but pure love.
Drunk Taehyung was the worst type of Taehyung — you, his best friend, obviously knew that but somehow, despite all the vomiting without warning and red eyes, he never let out secrets. You couldn’t say that he had a huge alcohol tolerance, because he didn’t. But whenever he was drunk and you tried getting him to spill something, he never agreed and always changed the topic. You supposed that there was this super rational part in him all the time which prevented him from letting out any secrets. So now when he’s standing in front of you, eyes staring straight at you, you’re shocked when he confesses his undying love for you his words, not yours. “Y/n, I’ve always seen you as an angel come from heaven. You’re so sweet and kind and just- perfect. How could I not fall for you?” His eyes are desperate, hands coming to encompass yours and suddenly, you’re hit by a truck of emotions. You’re nodding before you can even comprehend his statement and his lips land on yours in a rough kiss. All this while, you had thought that you only cared so much about Taehyung because of his nature but soon, you realise that you had loved Taehyung all this while. “I love you too.”
You feel his lips against yours. For a second you were happy but then all you could see in your head was Jinyoung. You quickly push Taehyung away. Tears are coming from your eyes.
Y/N: “I’m sorry...I-I-I cant”
You run through the crowd. You didn’t know where you were running to but you knew you had to get away. You stop at the entrance of the university and squat down. You are hyperventilating while crying. You feel arms wrap around you. You look up and see it was Bora.
Bora: “What’s wrong?”
Y/N: “I-I-I can’t do this. “
Bora: “It is ok. You don’t have to do anything anymore. Let’s go home” She helps you up. Her left arm is around your waist as you both walk home.
Jungkook: “What happened Tae?”
Taehyung: “I don’t know. We were dancing and having fun. The slow song came on and we dance to that. Then I kissed her. It felt like the right moment but I guess I was wrong” He hung his head down as he spoke. He wasn’t sure how, but he knows he hurt you in some way.
You and Bora get home. You cried the entire way home. You wanted to die. You go into your room and get into bed. You don’t even bother changing clothes. You are in fetal position as you pull the covers over you. You held the teddy bear close to you and realize that you are still wearing Taehyung’s jacket. You pull it closer to yourself and try to smell the last remaining cologne that was left on it. Bora comes in and sits on the bed with you.
Bora: “Talk to me Y/N. It looked like you and Taehyung were having fun.”
Y/N: “We were. Everything was perfect. When he kissed me I was initially happy. But then I saw Jinyoung’s face in my head. He was telling me that I will never be happy. He said I don’t deserve Tae and that no one will ever want to be with me” You started to cry again.
Bora: “You know that is not true.”
Y/N: “He probably hates me now. I pushed him away and there is no way I can undo that”
Bora: “He will understand. Trust me. Get some sleep. You will feel better in the morning” Bora walked out of the room and turned off the lights. Her phone started to ring. Bora picked it up.
Bora: “Jungkook, hey.......yah I am at home......She will be okay.......I will talk to you about it later........I love you too.” She hung up the phone.
You woke up from a dreamless sleep. You still felt upset about what happened last night. You get up from the bed and walk to the living room.
Bora: “Good morning. Are you hungry? I can fix you something”
Y/N: “No thanks. I am not hungry. I think I am just going to take a shower.”
You go into the bedroom and start to take off the jacket. You wished there was some way you didn’t have to take off the jacket. You placed it on your bed and took the rest of your clothes off. You walk into the bathroom and turn the shower on and make sure it is hot before entering. While you are showering you start to cry again. You rest against the wall and slide down burying your head in your knees. You spend almost 1.5 hours in the shower before getting out. You get dressed and go back to bed. Bora knocks on the door.
Bora: “Hey I am going out for a little bit. Will you be okay?”
Y/N: “I will be fine”
Bora leaves the house and walks to a cafe that is 20 min away from the apartment. She sees Jungkook and Taehyung sitting at a table. Jungkook is drinking coffee while Taehyung had a soda.
Bora: “Hey guys”
Jungkook: “How is she?”
Bora: *looks at Taehyung* “She will be okay. She is punishing herself for hurting you Tae. She said when you kissed her she was happy but then saw Jinyoung in her head. He made her feel like no one will ever want her. She does have feelings for you.”
Taehyung: “I never wanted to make her cry. And yet I end up doing just that”
Jungkook: “You did nothing wrong. No one, but Jinyoung, is to blame. He broke her spirit. And if anyone can repair her heart and spirit it is you”
Bora kisses Jungkook before leaving the cafe. She headed towards the grocery store. She wanted to make you some food to lift your spirits.
Jungkook and Taehyung begin to walk back to their dorm when Taehyung gets a phone call. He answers it. When he hears the voice he immediately froze.
??: “Hello little brother.”
Taehyung: “Jinyoung. What do you want? How did you get my number?”
Jinyoung: “Don’t worry how I got your number. A little birdie sent me a picture of you and Y/N dancing. I may have been in jail this past year but she is still mine.”
Taehyung: “She will never be yours. You almost killed her. What makes you think she will go back to you?”
Jinyoung: “We shall see. I am right outside her and Bora’s apartment. Let’s see what they say when I ring the doorbell.” He hangs up.
Taehyung stood frozen for a moment and then began to run as fast as he could. Jungkook ran behind him not quite sure what was going on.
Taehyung: “Which way to Bora’s apartment?”
Jungkook: “Why? What happened?”
Taehyung: “I don’t know how my brother is out of jail but he said he was right outside the apartment. Bora said she was going to the store. There is no way she is home yet and that means Y/N is by herself”
Jungkook: “This way” They both took off in a run
At your apartment
You hear a knock at the door. Did Bora forget her keycode again? You walk to the door and begin opening the door.
Y/N: *as you open the door* “Did you forget the code again Bora?”
You look up to see Jinyoung. You try to close the door but he is too strong. He forces his way in. You want to run but are frozen in fear.
Jinyoung: “Awww baby. Is that how you treat your boyfriend whom you haven’t seen in a year?”
Y/N: “You are not my boyfriend. I am not going back to you. I would rather die.”
Jinyoung: *grabs your hair* “That can be arranged.”
He throws you against the table. You try to get up but he kicks you in the stomach. He picks you up by your hair and punches you in the face. He was about to hit you again just as Jungkook and Taehyung come in the door.
Taehyung runs and punches Jinyoung in the face. Jungkook picks you up and moves you out of their fighting path. He pulls out his phone and calls the police.
Jinyoung: “You should not interfere baby brother. I was teaching Y/N a valuable lesson. She needs to learn that she is trash and that no one will ever want trash like her.”
Taehyung: *punches Jinyoung but is still holding him by the shirt* “Y/N is not trash. She is an amazing person who you broke. Even after a year she is still hurt from your years of abuse. I will always want her. I will always have feelings for her”
The Police enter the apartment and pull Taehyung off of Jinyoung. You are sitting with your knees under your chin crying. You see Jungkook talking to one police officer while Taehyung was talking to another. Bora runs into the apartment and runs to you. You try to explain what happened but you not speak. All you could do was rock back and forth. Jungkook walks to Bora and explains everything to her.
Bora: “Thank you both for saving her. I can’t believe he was released from jail. Taehyung, why don’t you go talk to her.”
Taehyung: “I may just make it worse for her”
Bora: “Right now she needs comfort. You can give that to her. Stay here with her. I will stay with Jungkook overnight so you two can be alone”
Taehyung walks over to you and puts his arm around you. Instinctively you turn into him and cry into his chest. He holds you close to him as you cry and begins to pet your hair.
Taehyung: “It is ok Y/N. I won’t let him or anyone else hurt you anymore. I promise.”
You find comfort and safety in his words and his arms. You do not want to leave his embrace. Exhaustion takes over you. You close your eyes and fall asleep.
Taehyung notices that you stopped crying. He looks down and sees your sleeping face. He smiles to himself before he picks you up and carries you to your bed. He places you gently on your bed and pulls the covers over you. He turns to walk out of the bedroom but is stopped by you holding his wrist.
Y/N: “Don’t leave me alone please” You say this while being half asleep.
Taehyung: “I will never leave you.” He lays next to you in bed and falls asleep almost immediately.
You wake up and feel the sunlight from your window hit your face. You notice an arm under you neck and open your eyes to see Taehyung laying right next to you. You are facing each other. One arm is over your abdomen while the other is under your neck. You look up at his sleeping face and smile a little. Even though you were close to him, you move a little closer to him. His arms made you feel safe.
Taehyung: “Good morning Y/N. How did you sleep?
Y/N: “Very well thanks to you.”
Taehyung: “Good.”
You sit up in the bed and stretch and then recoiled from the pain in your ribs.
Taehyung: “What’s wrong”
Y/N: “Just the pain from yesterday.”
Taehyung: “You should go see a doctor. You may have more broken ribs.”
Y/N: “I will be fine. I’m sure it is just bruising.” You also cannot seem to get warm. You felt as if you were stuck in the snow with no jacket. You decide to go and take a hot shower to try to warm you up.
Taehyung looks at you with a skeptical face but doesn’t fight you on the matter. You walk into the bathroom and suddenly feel dizzy. You put both of you hands on the sink counter trying to keep yourself standing.
Y/N: “Tae....” You weakly try to call for him before collapsing on the floor.
Luckly Taehyung heard you, but just barely. He comes into the bathroom and sees you on the floor.
Taehyung: “Hey.....Y/N. Can you hear me? Y/N!”
You start to wake up. You can hear Taehyung’s voice calling you and you desperately want to answer him but you can’t. You are going in and out of consciousness. He puts his hands on your face and notices how hot you are. He picks you up and places you in bed. He applies a cold pack to your forehead and covers you with the covers. Your breathing is heavy and struggling. Taehyung pulls out his phone to call Jungkook.
Jungkook: “Hello?”
Taehyung: “Hey is Bora with you? Y/N collapsed and is running a high fever. Can Bora drive us to the hospital?”
Jungkook: “Yah we will be there in less than 10 min”
Bora and Jungkook arrive at the house. Taehyung picks you up and places you in the back of the car and sits next to you. He props you up so you are leaning on him. When you arrive at the hospital, Taehyung gently picks you up and carries you inside.
Taehyung: “Hey I need a doctor now!”
Nurse: “What happened?” She can see the bruises on your neck as she brings a stretcher so Taehyung can set you down.
Taehyung explains everything that happened yesterday to the nurse. The nurse places an IV into you and gets the doctor. The doctor examines you.
Doctor: “I want a CT scan. While we are waiting get her on some IV fluids to bring her fever down.”
Nurse: “Yes sir”
They take you quickly and perform the CT scan.
Taehyung: “Thanks for bringing us. You two don’t have to stay. I will wait with her”
Jungkook: “Are you sure?”
Taehyung: “Yah I am good. I will text you with what they find.”
Jungkook: “Ok. Let us know if you need anything.”
Taehyung: “I will”
Jungkook and Bora leave the hospital. To Taehyung, every minute felt like hours. He just wanted to know that you would be okay. Eventually the doctor came to speak to him.
Doctor: “She will be fine. She has a very mild concussion. The fever is most likely due to the injuries she sustained from yesterday. You can go see her in her room. She passed out from the fever and not the concussion so that is good news. Once the fever breaks she should wake up.”
Taehyung: “Thank you so much Doctor”
Taehyung walks into your room and pulls the chair closer to your bed. Before he sits down, he kisses your forehead. He sits down and holds you hand. He had no plans on leaving your side. He promised you he would never leave you and he meant it.
You wake up and look around. You realize you are in the hospital. You look to your right and see Taehyung in a chair. He was bent over so his head was on your bed and he was holding your hand. You slowly slide your hand from his. He was sleeping so peacefully. You gently caress his hair trying not to wake he up. You end up staring at him for almost an hour before he started to stir.
Y/N: “Good morning”
Taehyung: *his eyes widen* “You’re awake! How are you feeling?”
Y/N: “Better, thanks to you”
Taehyung: “I am relieved you are okay.”
Your doctor walks in, sees that you are awake, and begins to do a physical exam on you.
Doctor: “Your vitals are normal so I suspect you should be able to go home tomorrow. I would like to keep you one more night just to make sure your fever doesn’t come back”
Y/N: “Yes sir. Thank you”
Your doctor leaves the room and you turn to Taehyung
Y/N: “You don’t need to stay. I will be fine.”
Taehyung: “I am not leaving your side”
Hearing those six words made you happy. You didn’t want to burden him but there was a part of you that didn’t want him to leave. You sit up a little bit more and scoot over to one side of the bed.
Y/N: “Sit next to me and we can see if there is anything on TV to watch”
Taehyung: *Pulls out a tablet from his bag* I do have a few movies on my tablet we can watch together” He gets into the bed with you.
Y/N: “Even better”
You look through the movies he does have and pick one. The movie starts and he puts his arm around you. You scoot closer to him and rest your head on his chest. You get through about half of the movie before you fall asleep. Taehyung notices that you fell asleep and turns the tablet off and sets it on the table near your bed.
You turn in your sleep wrapping your arm around Taehyung. The door to your room open and Jungkook and Bora walk into the room. They see you are sleeping and close the door very quietly.
Bora: “How is she doing?”
Taehyung: “Good. The doctor says she can most likely go home tomorrow.”
Jungkook: “I think it was her nurse that should be given the credit for her getting better” He was chuckling for he was implying the nurse being Taehyung.
Taehyung: *knowing what Jungkook was implying* “Haha very funny Jungkook”
Bora: “Jokes aside, I do think she would not have been alive if it were for you Tae. Thank you for being there for her.”
Taehyung: “I don’t plan on leaving her. Once she feels better I plan on asking her to be my girlfriend.”
Bora: “I am sure she will say yes”
Taehyung: “I hope so”
You wake up the next morning feeling almost 100% better. You still ached from the bruises but otherwise felt fine. You look over but do not see Taehyung in your room. The door to your room opens and Taehyung walks in.
Taehyung: “Good morning. I was just speaking to your nurse. Your doctor should be here soon to do another exam and if it is all good, you will be able to go home.”
Y/N: “Perfect”
The nurse walks in and hands you your breakfast. You sit up and begin to eat. You notice that Taehyung is staring at you.
Y/N: “What? Do I have something on my face?”
Taehyung: “Nope. Just admiring your beautiful face” He smiles
You cannot help but blush. You look down at your breakfast and keep eating. About 30 minutes later your doctor walks in.
Doctor: “How are you feeling today Y/N?”
Y/N: “A lot better. Just still a little bit sore but otherwise good”
Doctor: “Good. I will give you a pain prescription and your discharge papers and then you are free to go”
Y/N: “Thank you Doctor”
He leaves the room and Taehyung pulls a bag from behind the chair where he was sitting.
Taehyung: “Bora brought you some clothes yesterday. I will step out and let you take a shower and get dressed”
You nod your head as he sets the bag on the bed. You get up and head to the bathroom. Your legs were sore from when Jinyoung kicked you. You turn the water on and let it heat up. You step into the shower. The hot water feels good on your skin. You wash yourself and then step out of the shower. Bora had brought you jeans, a shirt, and under garments. You get dressed and put your shoes on. Taehyung enters the room and has papers with him.
Taehyung: “The doctor handed me your medicine and discharge papers. I have a taxi waiting downstairs for us.”
You stand up and walk to Taehyung. You limp due to the pain. Taehyung puts his arm around your waist.
Taehyung: “Use me as a support. I’ve got you”
You lean against him as you make your way to the elevator. You get into the cab with Taehyung and tell your driver the address. When you get home you notice Bora is not there. You figured she must be with Jungkook. As you enter the living room you see a large bouquet of your favorite flowers. You smell the flowers.
Y/N: *you turn to Taehyung* “Where did these come from?”
Taehyung: “I had them delivered here. Bora put them in the living room before she and Jungkook left for a weekend trip”
Y/N: “How did you know what my favorite flowers are? I never told anyone.”
Taehyung: “Lucky guess *he smiled* I am glad you like them.”
Y/N: “I love them” You give him a hug.
Taehyung hugs you back. He spent the weekend with you, making sure you were okay. He pampered you for the weekend. It was the first time any guy has done this for you. You felt special.
One week later
It had been a week since you came home from the hospital. You were relaxing at home when your phone rings. You look at the called ID to see it was Taehyung
Y/N: “Hey Tae. What’s up?”
Taehyung: “I was just wondering if you were free tonight. I thought we could go out for dinner”
Y/N: “Yah that sounds good”
Taehyung: “Great!. I will pick you up at 7:30 then”
Y/N: “See you then”
You look at the time. It was barely 11am. You go to your closet and look at the dressed that you had. You wanted to look cute for Taehyung. This was the first time you are going to dinner with Taehyung. While he never said the exact word ‘date’, you felt like it was a date. You looked from dress to dress but didn’t find one that you liked.
Y/N: “Bora! I need your help”
Bora: “What’s up?”
Y/N: “I am going to dinner with Tae tonight but I don’t have anything cute to wear. Can you come shopping with me to find a good outfit for tonight?”
Bora: “Yah let me get dressed and we can go.”
You and Bora head to the mall and go from store to store in search for the perfect dress that was cute but not too sexy. You spend almost 4 hours at the mall trying on different dresses till you finally found the one that both you and Bora felt was perfect. You find a pair of heels to go with the dress and then go and check out. It was 5:30pm when you got home.
You go and take a long shower. You were feeling excited and nervous at the same time. You put your bra and underwear on before slipping a shirt on. Bora comes in and does your makeup. Once she finishes, you take off the shirt and put the dress on. Bora helps you style your hair. She had just finished when the doorbell rings.
You go downstairs and open the door. Taehyung is dressed in a nice sleek suit. He looks at you from top to bottom.
Taehyung: “You look amazing”
Y/N: *you blush* “Thank you. You look amazing too”
He offers you his arm which you take. You walk to his car and get inside. He drives you to the restaurant. It was an Italian restaurant that you have been wanting to go to for a long time. It was super fancy and you had to have a reservation to dine there.
The waitress greets you and Taehyung gave her his name for the reservation. She walks you to a booth that was tucked away in the corner. The lights were dimmed which gave the area a more romantic vibe.
After you and Taehyung finished eating dinner the waiter came and asked about dessert which Taehyung declined. The waiter handed him the check. Taehyung paid and then extended his hand to help you out of the booth. You walk out of the restaurant and back to his car.
Taehyung: “I have one more place I want to take you”
You nod as you get in the car. He drives for almost an hour. You kept thinking of what would happen next. You were wondering where he was taking you. Dinner was phenomenal and you weren’t sure if anything could top it. Taehyung makes a turn and then parks the car.
Taehyung get out of the car and runs around to open your door. You step out of the car and hear the crashing of waves. He takes your hand and walks you towards a large building on the beach. He guides you up some stairs and when you get onto the roof of the building you are in awe. The roof was surrounded by lights. On the floor was a blanket that had a small cake and 2 wine glasses. He turns to you and takes both of your hands as he walks you to the blanket.
Taehyung: “Y/N. I know these past few months have not been easy for you. I know you have had some men in your past who have not treated you right. I also know that I love you very much. Y/N, will you please be my girlfriend?”
Y/N: “Taehyung, if it weren’t for you I would most likely be dead. You are the first guy who has ever made me feel safe. Of course I will be your girlfriend.”
Taehyung smiled for a second before kissing you. The kiss made you feel like you were flying. Taehyung broke the kiss and you both sit down. All of a sudden fireworks started. Taehyung opened the wine and poured you some. He also cut you a piece of the cake. After eating you snuggled with Taehyung watching the rest of the firework show. You felt a happiness you haven’t felt in a long time. And you wanted it to never end.
