Valerie and Echo: Celestial Sapphics

I’ve been thinking about how all of my selfships are queer in different ways, and how they highlight different aspects of my own gender identity and sexuality. So I decided to make a moodboard series for each of my selfships, exploring the ‘flavour’ of queerness that each one has!

This one is for my relationship with Val, aka. Ms. Frizzle! My gender can be phrased in many ways, but when I’m in a sapphic relationship, I tend to call myself a nonbinary woman, which is what I identify as in this relationship.

I headcanon Val as being a lesbian woman who has transitioned, but doesn’t often think of herself as being ‘trans’ unless she’s talking to a child who’s questioning their gender. Meanwhile, I’m a non-binary woman who prefers gender-neutral language (going by Mx. Makovsky as a teacher, spouse instead of wife, they/them instead of she/her) but still primarily identifies as a woman.

Basically, they’re lesbians and they both wear lesbian pins on their clothes, and they make uhaul jokes and they love each other very much.
