I have spent the last WEEK just reading nothing but gay cowboy fic.
Stupid ass Faraday and his drunken magician personality with dumb Vasquez and his pretty boy outlaw face.
3 week late WIP Wednesday courtesy of @malkaleh! 💖 As always, tagging ANYONE who see this! This is a little bit from my bare-bones attempt at a supernatural, bittersweet, semi-fix-it for 2016's Mag Seven :))))))
Vasquez is standing still a few feet back from the bar, eyes locked somewhere amongst the shelves of liquor hung below the slanted, blood-splattered mirror. He can't pinpoint Vasquez's gaze through its dirt-fog. Chisholm reholsters his gun, then approaches him slowly.
"Sam," Vasquez says, and his fingers are still wrapped tight and ready around his pistol. "I did not take my eyes off my target."
Chisholm frowns at him. "I never suggested you would've."
"Sam," Vasquez says, still staring ahead, and the unsteady timber of his voice tightens something red-hot in Chisholm's stomach and has his right hand moving up to his hip. "That man behind us looks shot dead to me."
Why is Vasquez and Faradays dynamic so delicious to me.
Might be the slight height difference, requiring Faraday to have to look up, which definitely pisses him off. Or Vasquez going overkill on killing McCann after he shot Faraday once. Their shared love for making stupid jokes and laughing hard at them. Vasquez calling Faraday ‘Guero’ and turning it into a fond nickname. Their tension that just SCREAMS the two think of arguing and wrestling as their foreplay. Faradays fiery temper vs Vasquez’s more reserved restrained nature.
But idk. I could be here a while listing the maybes
Drink Like a Fish, Lie Like a Stone: Chapter 8 (95108 words) by whitedatura Chapters: 8/8 - COMPLETE!! Fandom: The Magnificent Seven (2016) Rating: Explicit Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Joshua Faraday/Vasquez, Background Goodnight Robicheaux/Billy Rocks Additional Tags: Post-Movie, Alternate Universe - Everyone Lives/Nobody Dies, Canon Era, Slow Burn, Competitive idiots, Canon-typical smoking and alcohol use, Brief canon-typical violence, Post-Canon Fix-It, Found Family (literal and metaphorical) Summary: The night before the battle of Rose Creek, Faraday comes to Vasquez with an offer he doesn't want to refuse. The aftermath is complicated by injuries and recovery, but Vasquez thinks they might have things figured out right up until the morning Faraday is nowhere to be found. The rest of the seven split into two groups with a promise to meet in Amador City in a few months' time. To everyone's surprise, Faraday shows up as well, drunk but with a lead on a gang of horse thieves. (In which Vasquez and Faraday compare dick sizes, argue about Vasquez's first name, mend a literal fence, and spend some quality time in a barn.)
Last chapter!! It's actually done! ...kinda wish I'd hit 100k since the odds of me finishing something this long again are slim, but still the longest thing I've ever completed!

I am very dumb and attempting a new fandom. WWWWWHHHHHEEEEEEEE!
A redraw of an old doodle I did. I miss my boys.
Just an art of my favorite cowboy couple in my modern-day supernatural creature AU, Magic + Malevolence. ft Joshua the necromancer and Vasquez the unwilling hunter. Check it out with the link below! :D
