thinking about varaday and how josh definitely ragebaits vasquez all the fucking time in any possible way lol

(more under the cut because I got carried away lol)

"guero can you grab my gun for me?", "what?", "my gun", "where?", "right behind you" vasquez is already annoyed here, "can't find it" without even looking around, "hijo de puta just give me my fucking gun already!", faraday just stares at him for a few seconds, shrugs and says "idk where it is" the only thing stopping vasquez from shooting faraday is that the fucking guero hasn't given him his fucking gun yet.

or, imitating him randomly. his voice, his pose, his accent (terribly btw). hiding his things and acting all innocent when vasquez confronts him.

going as far as pretending he's actually hurt when they play fight, specially after they've both had a few drinks. vasquez desperately asks what's wrong while faraday rolls on the ground grunting in pain, and only when vasquez turns his back to go after sam for help, faraday starts laughing as if he's the biggest comedian in the world.

he loves how easily it is to piss vasquez off, loves when the mexican grabs him by the collar and snarls right at his face, loves how genuinely concerned he looks when faraday pretends to be hurt, loves how his accent gets thicker the angrier he gets, and if faraday annoys him enough vasquez goes full spanish screaming the worst profanities he can think of - which only adds to his anger because faraday won't know what his exact cuss words.

vasquez ofc knows he's doing it on purpose, and he has tried to not get worked up so easily. but faraday has such a punchable face he can't hold back for more than a few seconds.

it takes some time for vasquez to realize that's how faraday flirts, but how can you blame him? faraday is annoying to everyone. but with vasquez he's always looking for excuses to touch, to be close. all the other five can see how gentler his pranks are when it comes to vasquez, billy recognizes the love struck look faraday has when looking to the mexican - he does because that's the same way goody looks at him too.

but even once they get together the ragebaiting never stops, faraday started leaving him with blue balls, turning his face away from when vasquez lean in for a kiss...

Star Wars au

Because I'm a sucker for Mandalorian x Jedi, let's make it Magnificent Seven (2016) style.

Joshua Faraday was a youngling during the Clone Wars and managed to save himself during the Jedi Purge by hiding and dampening his own abilities.

Miguel Vasquez, as a Mandalorian, is the last of his clan. He is on the run with an imperial bounty on his head. hiding out in the outer rim. (Because I subscribe to the extended universe of Mandalorians, Vasquez doesn't have to wear his armor 24/7)

Billy Rocks, his planet was wiped out during the Clone Wars/the rise of the Empire. Later saved by Goodnight. Goodnight, Robicheaux, an ex-imperial sniper. Did a lot of bad things in the name of the empire before he went AWOL. And meet Billy saved him from an imperial ambush and absolutely does not tell Billy he was an imperial, but Billy, being Billy, knows anyway. Sam Chisolm, a former commander during the clone wars, is now an Outer Rim lawman/bounty hunter. Red Harvest, force-sensitive wanderer from uncharted territory. Still better at the force than Faraday. Jack Horne, this one was the hardest.

WIP Wednesday (okay it's Thursday but I think I just got over a 200-word hump I've been stuck on for a couple days).

Vasquez's spa day interrupted by cat drinking his bathwater.

Definitely at 15k words with several scenes to go, why am I like this.

He's bored out of his goddamned mind.

Vasquez is pacing around the main house, as has become his custom, endlessly drawing, spinning, and holstering the one gun he can practice with when Faraday calls his name from the barn.

Trying not to look too eager, he ambles over, gun flashing in the sunlight.

"Got a Mexican question," Faraday announces, the beginnings of a shit-eating grin lurking at the corners of his mouth.

Vasquez rolls his eyes to the sky, hoping for a bolt of divine retribution, but none comes. "I can only answer Spanish questions, pendejo."

"Yeah, yeah. What's 'perro'?"

He blinks. "Dog."

Faraday nods like he'd expected as much. "What about perro war-dee-an?"

"'Perro guardián'?" Another nod. The shit-eating grin is out in full force now. Against his better judgment, Vasquez answers, "Guard dog."

Faraday waits.

Slowly, Vasquez looks back at the house, then down at his gun, then into the distance where the new ranch hands are working. He's been called worse things.

"You are making them so dang nervous," Faraday tells him, positively gleeful. "Come meet 'em for real at supper so they'll know this is just your resting murder face."
