Hidden areas and sewers in Hometown?

The other day I saw a video in which someone pointed out some weird stuff in Hometown, like this one:

So I did this:

And I thought something...

When I played the "Earthbound: Halloween Hack" that Toby made years ago, I remember the character Varik had to enter the sewers to advance the plot, but as you progressed, things got disturbing.

Something similar happens in Deltarune.

And it made me think something even bigger:

What if Hometown also has that kind of sewer system, where some of the closed doors and the shelter are connected to it and there's probably a giant secret lab or base down there where the Shelter Team operates? Come on, like something out of "Resident Evil".

Perhaps this could explain why Onion didn't return, since Kris probably alerted the Shelter Team and they did something to him.

But there's also something that came to my mind.

It seems little Kris throwed stuff down the toilet, without knowing there was something big in there and they were messing with it, but since Asgore did know, this caused a big fight with Toriel and things got ugly in the house.

So yeah, there you have it...

If this turns out to be true, my mind is gonna blow entirely.

Idk what you’d call this genre of character design where the eyes are mostly covered to make them look cooler (either by shadow or by cool glasses) But I like it a lot
