I got to take Valentine into Vault 81
Washington 'Alexander' Noble, named after his father but never uses his first name. It got too confusing as a child, and then he just stuck by his middle name.
19 years old when the bombs dropped, he was located in Nuka World training to be an Electrical Engineer at Nuka World. He survived because he had ear protectors in to use power tools next to the Nuka Quantum River Adventure. He didn't even hear the end of the world, it still rattles him that nobody bothered to fetch him.
Like the Nukalurks, the only source of water available for him as he cleared rubble to escape was Nuka Cola Quantum, turning him into a Quantum Glowing One. He has never worked out how to use his powers on command, leaving to a usual comical and poorly timed activation of them.
His main weapon is a sword, as the metal has become charged with his brand of radiation after years of using it. He can use it to create localised shockwaves, but struggles to use it on command. Anger helps to channel his powers, and his sword will glow blue if he is angered enough.
He has a hobby of fixing guns, and is well known for it in the places he frequents. He'll often offer to repair guns in an exchange of caps. Having this skill has made him well known with the Atom Cats who will often trade him Atom Cats branded leather for weapon repair.
He agrees with the morals of the minutemen, but doesn't run with them, thinking their methods too militaristic.
He finds his home in Goodneighbour, where he finds himself on an on again off again relationship with the mayor.
His horse and his dog have survived the fall of the bombs with him, and he is rarely seen without them both.

I wanted to go full "Fallout 2 Intro" on Vault 81, but they remind me too much of Vault 33, and I can't bring myself to open fire.
“You’re really tall,” Erin said, momentarily forgetting her upset as she gaped up at him. “Do I know you?”
“You don’t!” Austin said with glee. “He’s an outsider, too! From another Vault!”
“What? No way!” Erin said, turning back to Damien, eyes glittering with curiosity and tears. “Is that true, mister?”
“Austin ain’t a liar,” Damien said, and held his hand out as he smiled. “Nice to meet you, little lady.”
Vault 81 has such a special place in my heart <3

I've been asked to speak before this class and I'm scared of the cruelties of children.

Molerat Disease AUs/Headcanons
Time to tell me about your characters and the Molerat Disease in FO4.
Assuming that you gave the cure to Austin, did you give your character any specific long-term effects of the Molerat Disease? I'm playing around with a few ideas, but I don't want to reveal too much yet since I'm writing a FF and don't want to spoil too much, but definitely going with a sort of aches-and-pains-that-won't-go-away effect. Not sure to what degree.
I think that this was a missed opportunity to really make the player think about whether they wanted to give that cure to Austin or not. Because the only thing that happens to you is a constant -10 HP. If Bethesda had really thought about it, they could have made that disease do a lot more damage, prompting the player to start sweating puddles over whether they really wanted to risk playing the rest of their game with a somewhat crippling (or at the very least, annoying) condition.
