May I inquire why you hate boats?

Oh! So well uh I am kinda very much claustrophobic and also hate water and also hate not being able to see what's in the water and also it's shaky and you can't get away from it and IT SUCKS and I've had a panic attack or at least something very close litteraly every time I have stepped on a boat

Venus was born in 1931 as Lorraine Rosalind Thomas To her parents Alastor and Catherine Thomas.

They two were best friends and got married only for appearances in 1929.

Catherine never knew about Alastor being a murderer, though she knew he had things he kept from her.

Alastor died in 1933 when Venus is 2 and a half.

Catherine would go on to be a school teacher to provide for her and Venus, and they would be very close and spend a lot of time baking together.

Venus was a very smart girl and was the salutatorian of her high school for her senior year.

When she was 18 in 1949 she would kill someone in a hit and run and leave them there to die.

She would be so haunted by guilt that she turned to alcohol as a coping method for the next 8 years of her life, until she died in 1957 at 26 years old after crashing into a greenhouse while driving intoxicated.

She only worked on and off as a waitress before dying and mostly was supported by her mother.

Once in hell she'd spend a few months on her own but after meeting mimzy at a bar one night, and mimzy introducing her to Alastor, they'd both connect the dots and began to have a decent ish relationship.

Alastor is shocked that his daughter is down here with him but never once does he ask about what she did.

They have the kind of relationship where they're close and care deeply for each other but have no clue how to be vulnerable with each other.

Alastor still calls her Lorraine despite Venus repeatedly asking him to not call her that.

She'd move into the hotel when alastor does and she'd help out with the cooking and realize how much she still enjoyed doing it.

Her personality is very apathetic, and to the point, and depending on the day, rude, she's just very done with everything, but if she cares for you, she'll be a bit softer, and her way of showing loving is baking things for you.

She'd eventually start dating my other OC Lucia who's Angeldust's younger sister, and this is her first relationship ever, and it takes her a bit to come to terms with her feelings and acknowledge that she's a lesbian.

She very much is nostalgic for the 50s and loves making food from that decade, including jello molds.

Misses her mom a lot but is happy knowing she's in heaven where she belongs.

Despite being a semi functioning alcoholic for 75 years or so, Venus actually has a pretty weak alcohol tolerance.

Also misses the alligators she would occasionally see.

When she was little, alastor would call her firebug as a nickname.

She once considered being a piano teacher, and she always wanted to visit france but wasn't able to before she died.

It’s not the nightmares tonight, he hasn’t bothered to try sleep at all. Smoking hasn’t helped either, and a few shots of the fireball he keeps under his desk either.]

What’s the maximum amount of time your character can sit still with nothing to do?

With absolutely nothing to do, Venus could sit still for maybe twenty minutes. She always likes to be doing something, especially with her hands: reading, playing with Rex and ED-E, dismantling and cleaning her weapons, cooking, the list goes on and on. She enjoys taking quiet moments alone to herself to maybe watch the sunrise and sunset, but aside from that? No stimulation makes for a very bored and restless Venus.

A) Why are you excited about this character?

I first played Fallout: New Vegas on my PS3 when I was maybe thirteen and I've loved it ever since. It was my first Fallout game and my introduction to the world, and I'm so thankful for that. Venus not only allows for me to tell a bunch of varied and fun stories in that universe, but to explore how a person would react and change in response. As Courier Six, Venus has to do a lot of things that she once would have thought were impossible, for better and for worse. She's also just really badass and I love getting to write about her using a bunch of different guns; and maybe having a blossoming romance with a certain Brotherhood scribe.
