CR Non-Endgame Ships Bracket Take 2
Hello my friends! Some of you may recall that just about 2 years ago now, I ran a series of polls for ships from Campaign 1, Campaign 2, and EXU Calamity that were not together at the end of their respective series. I excluded any Campaign 3 and modern era EXU ships, since at the time, those storylines were still open; Imodna weren't even together at that point. However, now that C3 has reached it's conclusion, I thought it was a good time to revisit the concept. I also didn't feature M/F pairings last time around and now is a good time to make that right too.
So! Let's get into the rules and paraments parameters:
The phrasing "non-endgame" was chosen as certain relationships present were together at some point in canon but are not longer (ex. Blumendrei) or there was an either mutual or one-sided attraction that did not result in a relationship (ex. Widojest). It doesn't feel right to me to simply call these ships "non-canon", though they are featured alongside plenty of purely fanon ships (ex. Verinwulf), so. Non-endgame. It's a little clunky, but it works.
I've reincorporated pairings from the first poll that lost in the very first round, potentially giving them an opportunity to shine further! Any ship from the first poll that made it further than that is not present this time around. These pairings are: Widofjord, Fjordwulf, Vaxmore, Fjolly, Jester x Reani, Polynein, Vexleth, Perc'ildan, Beaukeg, Vexahra, Beastrid, Beaureani, Polymachina, Beaujester, Lucigast, and Widomauk. Please do not ask me where they are.
Almost every ship will feature fanart of the characters in question, included of course with permission from the artist. Links to the original posts will be included and I highly encourage giving them some love if you vote! Any ship that doesn't have a piece of fanart has a little tableau designed in HeroForge by myself. Grogleth is the only exception, with a still from TLOVM.
This bracket is for fun. Ship hate will not be tolerated. You will be blocked if you act poorly in the tags.
Block “cr non endgame poll” if you don’t want to see this further!
Voting will begin this Friday, February 14th, at 3pm CST. All polls will run for 24 hours. The first round will take place over two days, split into Parts A and B.

the duality of verin thelyss (as demonstrated by some excerpts from the thelyss family drama/post-campaign verinwulf wip i’ve been furiously working on over the past 15 hours)

Happy Wednesday all! After an impromptu break, we're back this week with eleven Hurt/Comfort fics! As always, you can find them below the cut and if you check any of them out, I encourage you to leave kudoes and comments to spread the rarepair love 💕
Last night, I asked my Twitter followers to send me prompts that I could write small snippets for, to give myself something fun to focus on during a time when everything is pretty dark. This first one is written twitter user acupoftease (if you have tumblr let me know and I’ll tag you!) for the prompt: “Post-canon, Verin & Wulf meet in one of the Nein gatherings and they all realize the Thelyss brothers have a thing for empire wizards”.
“This is ridiculous,” Beau hissed.
“Do you think it’s like catnip?” Veth mused in a whisper. “Thelyss hot boys and former scourgers?”
“I wish I knew what it was so I could channel it myself,” Kingsley said mournfully.
Caduceus glanced at them all, then over at the table a few down from their own, where Essek’s brother and Eadwulf were having the kind of conversation that involved a lot of coy looks and cocked hips, Eadwulf standing with his back against the table and Verin standing oddly close. Caduceus didn’t know much about that, personally - he’d walked by and all they’d been doing was talking about swords - but he supposed it was interesting.
Still. His friends were being nosy, and that was impolite. “What are you doing?” he asked cheerfully in a normal tone, causing Beau, Veth, Jester, and Kingsley to all jump into nonchalant poses at once.
“Nothing, Caduceus!” Jester chirped.
“Just admiring the view,” Veth said in a way that probably had a double meaning; Caduceus didn’t want to look into it.
“They are being creepy,” Caleb called over from the booth where he was wedged in with Essek, probably playing footsies. Astrid sat across from them looking a bit frustrated. “Wulf, you have an audience.”
Eadwulf didn’t even turn around. “Good. You know I like that,” he called back over his shoulder as he reached up to tuck a piece of hair behind one of Verin’s pointed ears.
Caduceus nodded sagely. Eadwulf had always seemed like a performer.
“I think, perhaps it’s time to relocate?” Verin asked with a raised eyebrow over Eadwulf’s broad shoulder at the rest of them. He made a face in Essek’s direction, and Caduceus was proud to see him becoming more comfortable with them all. “Shall we?”
“I thought you would never ask,” said Eadwulf, allowing himself to be led out from the pub and away from prying eyes.
“Ooooh!” Jester said with relish. “It really IS like catnip!”
Caleb had a grin on his face like he was about to start an immense amount of trouble. “Well,” he said, “Thelysses are a lot like cats.”
this is verin and wulf while wulf is in the dynasty and you can’t tell me otherwise
i am once again thinking about verinwulf so i smushed them together like barbie dolls
(place your bets — what is wulf saying to verin in the first one to make him blush like that?)
