VERSE : FFXIV

so gaara doesn’t really step into the journey until stormblood . he was born in bukyo of hingashi & his family was made up primarily of ninja soldiers . i like to keep things somewhat compliant so gaara’s mother , karura , will have died not long after giving birth to him & his father , rasa , ( who served as a high ranking military official ) died in battle to a close ally turned traitor . gaara was left with only his siblings to look after him & he remained callous , cold , & untrustworthy ( as he had blindly murdered many people ) . he was an enemy of the people , someone people warned other people about , due to his inability to control himself or his violent impulses . 

eventually , growing rather lonely ( perhaps by the fault of his own ) , he , as his father before him , joined the military ranks as a ninja & dedicated his murderous intent to something more socially acceptable . it wasn’t until he found himself stations in kugane that anything in his life would change . due to gaara’s upper level skill , he was selected as a guard / retainer to lord hien , & served under him for many years . it took years , but eventually they grew to trust each other , along with yugiri . the three became somewhat of a team , so , *inserts gaara into stormblood’s story* , he goes where they go , essentially , & they are the people closest to him . he doesn’t truly understand what friendship entails , though , & i suppose that’s where the wol might come in . while his dedication to hien & yugiri was something formal & professional , the wol kind of shows him that there’s friendship to be had beyond missions & duty .

he’d fight alongside everyone in the war , but i don’t think he’d show up too much along the route of shadowbringers ( though , tbh , with some plotting we can make it work ) or endwalker . however , i’m totally open to exploring things post - endwalker , whether your character is familiar with him or not !

It’s a start. 

Main: This verse runs anywhere from the Kalm Incident to just before he ‘retires’. This can cover any sort of interaction and if you have a specific point in time within this timeline that you want to do, let me know!

Before Kalm: Before Kalm runs from the Kalm Incident to Veld first forming the group which would later come to be known as the TURKS. If you want young, new Dad Veld who’s not bitter and jaded yet, this is for you.

Pre-ShinRa: Mercenary Veld! Before he was Director Dragoon, he was a sword for hire in Wutai with his three best friends, protecting noble young ladies and assassinating clan leaders.

Retirement: Don’t let the one arm and white hair fool you. He may be 70 and older but he can still kick your ass. Living in Wutai once more, Veld continues to run an intelligence gathering operation because he doesn’t know how to relax. That being said, you’ll find him playing checkers and drinking tea every Saturday morning in a tea house with all the other old people (or showing some young fool how to do one armed push ups).

Mafia: Director Veld Dragoon of the CIA leads something of a double life; he’s also the head of the Dragoon family mafia. Not much different from the TURK verses really, just set in New York City.

Jedi Master Dragoon: Star Wars crossover! Set mostly pre Duel of the Fates. A master in exotic weapons and probably walking the line of being a Gray Jedi, Veld struggles with doing what he believes is right and what the Counsel believes is right, and the loss of his Padawan. Being of similar mindset and ideas, he's good friends with Qui-Gon Jinn

darkside!poe - This verse can take place at various stages : 1) Poe has begun to feel the pull of the Dark Side and questions his allegiances. 2) Poe has decided that he no longer feels loyal to the Resistance and has chosen to either just leave or to join the First Order. 3) Poe is a member of the First Order and is either a pilot for them or a spy amongst the Resistance.

longthoughtdead - Poe was sent on a solo mission and has been missing for several months (maybe even a year depending on the post/thread) and is now believed dead. Depending on the muse/thread/post, he either is finally returning or is found.
