I think for the sake of not confusing people im going to start only using epic tags when talking SPECIFICALLY about epic the musical ( Previous posts have contained both oddessy and epic tags, The reason being because I am a fan of both) But i've been worried that that could be confusing to someone whose only an epic fan, and annoying to someone who only likes the oddessy. I might also go back and remove any oddessy tags from old posts that are ONLY about epic ( That one essay long post about retellings will still contain both, As I talked about both in the post, Along with this post too)

Kusanagi hit by strain and now he turn back as a child. He is a bit loss because his memory degrades as well. Meanwhile Awashima tasked to babysit him.

I'm kinda imagining young Kusanagi trying to be all smooth and gentlemanly towards Awashima which she finds rather amusing, like is this eight year old really trying to sweet talk me. Also it would be cute for everyone else to have to mother Kusanagi so much, would Homra survive without him around to keep an eye on all of them. Maybe that's why they have to ask Awashima to babysit him, Homra doesn't have anyone else available who they feel could be properly trusted with the kid (well, Kamamoto would probably be fine but he's busy and no one believes Yata when he says he knows how to babysit). Like say Kusanagi gets hit by the de-age Strain, at first it isn't a problem because even though his body changed he still has his usual mind – imagine him climbing on a box and mixing drinks behind the bar – but he slowly starts forgetting things and Homra realizes that he's regressing back into a kid. Totsuka wonders what they should do about this, like he and Mikoto have sent everyone out to go find the Strain but in the meantime someone needs to watch little Kusanagi. Totsuka thinks they could do some fun hobbies together but the rest of Homra are like maybe that's not such a great idea, like who knows what Totsuka could end up teaching little Kusanagi. There's also the concern about leaving Kusanagi possibly vulnerable with the weakest member of the group but they can't spare anyone stronger to watch him either. Before his mind totally regresses Kusanagi gives his phone to Totsuka and Totsuka realizes that calling 'that person' may be the best idea.

By the time Awashima shows up at the bar Kusanagi's completely back to being a kid. He's sitting in the corner of the bar calmly reading a book, Totsuka says he knows this is a strange request from Homra but Kusanagi himself was the one who suggested it. Awashima doesn't mind so much, she happens to be off shift and spending a few hours watching Kusanagi doesn't sound too bad. Totsuka introduces her to Kusanagi as his 'new babysitter,' Kusanagi looks up and gives this like polite nod of the head as he asks her to please take care of him. Awashima is pleasantly surprised by how well behaved he is and suggests the two of them go out to a cafe for a bit. Totsuka grins as he tells her to have Kusanagi home by bedtime and Awashima rolls her eyes a little as she holds her hand out for Kusanagi to take.

The two of them head to a nearby cafe, Awashima orders an anko parfait and Kusanagi stares at her but doesn't say anything. I imagine Kusanagi being a very well-behaved kid, like he's used to his parents going off and leaving him with sitters and he's gotten used to being nice to strangers. Awashima thinks that Kusanagi seems very mature for his age and he shrugs and says he wants to be a grown up soon so he can take care of himself. Awashima's like you don't need to be in a rush and Kusanagi says he doesn't like not being able to do things because he's a child, like he never gets to run around like a kid does but he's not considered mature enough to go off on his own either. Awashima asks him if he has friends to be with and Kusanagi says not really, like people in his classes like him and let him settle fights but he never feels like anyone really likes him. Awashima's surprised by that, because he seems like such a kind child, and Kusanagi gives her this charming grin as he's like the girls tell me that too. She sighs a little and shakes her head, smiling as she says she's too old for him. Kusanagi gives this mock pout like 'heartless woman' and Awashima says he's too young to be using words like that for mature older women either. Kusanagi says older women always seem to like him and Awashima notes that he should spend more time with other children, like even if right now it doesn't seem as if he's close to anyone she feels confident in the future that he will have lots of friends surrounding him and relying on him while also caring very strongly about him.
