Inspired This fic-

Gregor asks Vikus one time about why he and Solovet are married, and Vikus smiles and makes a joke that it is a mystery to them as well

but... what if it wasn't- in the beginning?

What if, originally, Vikus was Solovet. He was ruthless and cunning, the best of kind, the most skilled swordsman, he could compete with Ragers he was so good at killing

It's what drew Solovet to him. His bloodthirstyness, his tact and his hatred.

He fought rats and he hated them like everyone else and she was the calmer one, the more normal one, the one who rats pleaded for mercy.

That is what drew her to him, and the reason they married. The reason they had children.

But then the Garden happens. And when Ripred says "he was too much like Vikus, in that retrospect" He means that Hamnet was dedicated to the cause- to an extent.

The Garden happens and Vikus is horrified. It wasn't his idea. Solovet came up with it, because she felt a little shunned by his shadow, and she was so proud of the idea.

Vikus didn't like it. Too many variables. Too many things could have gone wrong. Too many things did.

Vikus meets Ripred for the first time after that day. They fight. They scream. They argue. Maybe Hamnet has fled at this time. Maybe Vikus lost someone too.

Once they are all tired out- they match each other for speed, skill, rage, and verbal talent too- they sit.

They share their grief. Their pain.

They see that they are reflections of each other. A rager, a natural born killer. A talented Killer. Both lost their children. Both want it all to stop.

And that is when Vikus becomes who we meet him as.

That is who Vikus is when Gregor speaks to him.

That is the Vikus who still loves his wife, oh how he loves her, but she looks at him and cannot see the man she fell in love with. They no longer fit together. They no longer fight alongside each other.

(This leads into the second headcanon of NeeveevexSolovet, but that is for another day)

I plan to make ares, aurora, Nike (I love her) ripred, luxa, bane(maybe), gregor, boots, and temp. It's a lot but it's a project to keep me sane lol. Temp and Ares and Ripred are highest emotional priorities lol

The best part is that my dad is gonna help me make a hanger for the bats so the can sleep hanging upside down in the corner of my room near ceiling like real bats!!! He's a woodworker so it's gonna be awesome. And my mom said that on top we can make a platform for ripred to have a den to sleep in and shed help. The humans are gonna live on my bookshelf thst I personally designed temp will live wherever boots is.

If I finish those dolls ima make vikus to bother my buddy who runs the vikus blog.

YEEEESSSSSS!! I am so excited for updates on Ares!!!! The wingspan of the largest bat plush I have is 1 foot 10 inches, so the fact that the bats you are making will have AT LEAST a 2.5 feet wingspan is shocking and amazing and made me more excited.

Ares, Ripred, and Temp being the emotional priorities is so fair. The more I learn about this crocheting project, the better it gets. You're gonna have a whole Underland scene in your room with the bats hanging upside-down, Ripred in a den, and the humans plus Temp on the shelf? Amazing! 11/10! Just straight up fantastic! I am so excited for all of them!
