@nxbodygoesafterher Thanks, you're a doll!
You’re welcome!
violetfaust reblogged your post and added: ““where bluebirds fly” impressions”
So, I have never watched this episode, not just...
Yeah, I’m still waiting for a Belle-centric and it doesn’t seem to be happening. (Unless that’s one of the next two episodes, in which case I will gladly eat my words)
And yikes, the image of getting zucchini when you were promised chocolate was enough to make my taste buds curl up and cry...
The “Magrat” thing is from the Discworld series. A somewhat... distractable young woman (who is also the youngest witch in a coven) is going to marry the king (long story, told in another book) and then elves happen. Bad elves. Scary “Fair Folk” elves. And in the course of the story, this young lady, who is otherwise very on the “friend to all living things” trip, ends up wearing a battle armour under her wedding dress, shooting an elf through a key hole, and punching the Fairy Queen in the face. And then she marries her king. Who is wearing his old fool’s clothes at the time, because why the hell not. (There’s also weaponised Morris dancing. It’s a very Discworld sort of book)
{Quick request to anyone reading: I’m watching OUaT for the first time, and I want to avoid spoilers. So, if you want to discuss something spoilery, I’d be grateful if you could start a new post for that. Thank you!}

Belle Gold, née French, requested by @violetfaust
Overall I quite like this look. There’s some details I’d tweak, but generally I think it’s a sweet outfit that fits the character and the story. Everything here looks like something a woman would pull from her closet to wear to her impromptu wedding.
The things I take most issue with: the hat (too much association with the 1920s, plus I don’t like the off-white ribbon), the shoes (a bright color would have been better), the white tights.
Under the coat she wears a sheer blouse with lace ruffle trim, and a thin pleated skirt, also with lace trim. Both are delicate garments, and almost funny, given that she’s shown up to her wedding in sheers. ;)
The coat is the main feature here, of course. The fabric has a beautiful texture, and the style is simple. Everything, from skirt length to waistline to sleeve length to pockets to cuff depth to collar, is scaled just right for this petite actress. (Although I’m frowning a bit at the collar. It shouldn’t roll up in the front like that, but as I doubt the costume department has a professional collar maker on staff, I’ll let it go.) My only real quibble with it is the buttons. Either they needed to be smaller or cloth-covered—they’re too prominent.
Oh, and they forgot the buttonholes. Oops.
Honesty hour: Place you've always wanted to travel to?
My #1 place was always Australia, and I got to cross that off the bucket list in 2010 - though I would definitely go back and explore more if I had the chance. So I’ve had to choose a new life travel goal: Eastern Europe. I have friends who’ve gone on choir and band tours and I’m desperate to see it for myself.
