Rodimus had been walking the halls of the Lost Light when he’d spotted someone he didn’t recognise. And this guy was confusing. He looked like a Decepticon for sure, but he had an Autobot badge. Had the lost Light taken on another defector or something? If they had surely Magnus would’ve made a big deal about it.

Then again it wouldn’t be the first time he’d ‘missed’ a report on something important.

“Hey,” Rodimus approached a little warily, “I don’t think I recognise you. Are you a member of the crew?”

When the humans had turned against the Autobots who had helped them defend Earth from the Decepticons time and time again shortly after Drift had officially joined them, he’d been bewildered. He knew the humans were far from perfect (then again, is any race perfect?) but turning against your allies?

Drift wasn’t too concerned being on his own again, on the run from practically any and everyone at this point. It’s not much different than how his past few years had been. It was easier to worry about just himself, and trying to do only the bare minimal to get away from Cemetery Wind when they caught his trail than to have to look out for another and deal with the probability they’d be distrustful towards him for his ex-Decepticon stature.

Hiding proved to be more difficult than one might think, and to aid in such the triplechanger has since cycled through a few different alt modes-- currently folded down nicely into a black and blue Bugatti that seated itself in the upper levels of a parking garage that had been mostly out of use for years now, sheltering a few harmless squatters every once in awhile, though they stuck to the lower levels.

The newly-turned-Autobot had been using the confines of this building for about two weeks, keeping from the top level and using the sight provided from the higher levels to keep an eye on things-- recharging sparsely and only leaving to locate fuel when absolutely necessary.

One of said recharge cycles was abruptly interrupted by shouting and gun fire, jolting the Samurai from his thoughts and instinctively to his pedes, a servo flying to the handle of one of his blades to half draw it only to realize it was coming from below him, just outside.

Quickly, Drift made his way to the edge of his hiding place, peering down at the commotion below. It was most likely something to do with another Cybertronian being sighted nearby, which means if he stuck around his sanctuary would most certainly be blown as well.

He doesn’t know what to say to the role model part. Ironhide is not someone he himself would ever look up to.

(Sorta unrelated) Headcanon: Wiggle gets along great with Cat. Cat is the only sentient being Wiggle would not sell to Satan for a corn chip.

Ironhide is terrified 24/7 that Cat is gonna end up snake lunch, but there’s nothing he can do about it. No one stops Cat from doing what she wants, and she has no self-preservation instincts whatsoever so she is, of course, very much OK with Wiggle. Best reptilian companion.

Ironhide doesn’t even want to try stopping Wiggle. He saw that thing trying to eat one of his smaller blasters the other day.
