I need to know if I’m the only one here with this thought:
In Game of Thrones every time Drogon or the other dragons would breath fire there was this specific sound that they used and I LOVED it.
I genuinely missed it watching House of the Dragon and I wished they used it again.

Daenerys Targaryen x Fem!Reader
Word Count: 585 (so far)
Summary: The world of Essos and Westeros seen through the eyes of Drogon.
Notes: This is a small snippet of what I have been working on when in terms of the dragon POV. I know that the reader isn’t present yet but she will be in time. I hope you guys like this small snippet-- I just wanted to see if you all would be interested in something like this.
When he had first hatched everything around him was too bright. There was too much noise after spending centuries in the dark. Where the nothingness of eternity festered until it seemingly chocked him. Even if he didn’t understand the passage of time while within his egg-- he knew that it had been a long time. He knew that the world was changing around him. That what once was would never be again.
All the while he stayed the same. Trapped in an endless loop for the rest of time. His brothers only an added wound to his already battered mind. For he knew that they deserved to be alive. That they deserved to spread their wings and fill the air beneath their bodies. Even if he had never seen them, even though he had never nuzzled into their warmth, he knew them. With every fiber of his being, he knew them. For they were prisoners just like he was. Their minds were linked with his own.
They were three for so long.
Until they weren’t.
Until a fourth mind entered their own. Filled with warmth and love that he had never experienced before. Promising safety within its gentle touch. A promise being written with a hidden word that he had never known before, but he knew it was right when in terms of the gentle being.
Mother.
So when he opened his eyes for the first time-- when he saw the sun for the first time and the beautiful blue of the sky through the hazy expanse of fire-- his gaze gravitated towards the woman kneeling before him. Her eyes tracing his small form with that same gentle look her mind had traced across his own. The feeling of protection only growing now that he was in her presence.
This feeling causing him to move over towards her-- needing to be by her warmth.
Needing to be by his mother. The woman who had given him and his brothers a chance at life. A chance to feel the wind on their bodies and spread their wings for all to see. To feel the heat of the sun against their scales and fill the land with songs that had been gone for so long.
The woman who he would protect until his last dying breath.
Climbing up her body wasn’t an easy feat, but her gentle touch gave him the help that he desperately needed to clamber up. His body resting against the soft expanse of skin beside her head. His eyes traveling downward when he hears the shuffling of two other pairs of wings. His own feeling of warmth beginning to take hold as he finally lays eyes on his brothers. Their scales shining in the now dimming light of the fire.
Turning his head, his eyes trace over his mother’s face. Memorizing the face of the woman who had saved him. Who had earned his unwavering loyalty and love.
So when the fire died out and all the beings before him kneeled for his mother. He didn’t hesitate in rising, flaring his wings, as he let loose his own cry.
His own cry showing his loyalty.
Showing his love.
Showing his thanks.
His brothers soon joining his call, and the land was filled with the song that had been lost to the ages.
Their dragonsong sweeping across everyone with one clear message.
They were no longer three, but four, and they would do anything to protect the woman that had given them life.
Their mother.
Finished a cover for my story about almost a week ago w/o the text! Hopefully it’ll actually upload this time.
