You can only use this effect of "Vision HERO Vyon" once per turn. Once per turn: You can banish 1 "HERO" monster from your Graveyard; add 1 "Polymerization" from your Deck to your hand. ———————————————— Can Be Found In: Duelist Saga (DUSA-EN021)
Fusion Summon might take more management compared to other Extra Deck summons, but in return they obtain several liberties. With effects allowing them to use materials from anywhere besides the field always assures them a cheap way to summon a powerful Fusion Monster with ease, and in combination with the several searching effects we can work with always assures we have the right setup for the perfect situation. From options available for any Deck to archetypes completely arround Fusion Monsters, despite being the first monsters to reside the Extra Deck they still have many advantages over the competition.
"Vision HERO Vyon" is a small creature that provides two powerful abilities for the goals arround some of the HERO strategies. When summoned "Vyon" will let us send a HERO from the Deck, a simple effect that can provide several benefits depending of its target and the actions we can follow afterwards. Among them is its own second effect, which allows us to banish a HERO from our Graveyard to obtain the classic "Polymerization" from our Deck. Overall "Vyon" is a solid choice to gather pieces for many outcomes we can aim for, and that will depends of which HERO cards and even sub-archetype we'll work along with.
As the most supported archetype in the entire game, HERO offers plenty of methods to obtain "Vyon" as soon as possible, If is not added to our hand by the help of either "E - Emergency Call" and "Reinforcement of the Army", "Elemental HERO Shadow Mist" can be disposed by the effect of "Vyon" itself so we can prepare a new copy for future turns. Its milling effect will trigger no matter how is summoned (As long is face-up), so besides being simply Normal Summoned we can instead bring it out along monsters like "Tin Goldfish" and "Summoner Monk" to prepare all sorts of summons afterwards. Obviously it can be a perfect target of revival effects so we can keep milling HEROs in later turns, as otherwise we can banish its own copies to obtain "Polymerization".
Obtaining "Polymerization" by the effect of "Vyon" is very simple, specially since we can use the HERO that just dumped from our Deck to follow with this ability and possibly finish with a Fusion Summon. However, "Vyon" true potential comes from which HEROs we can send to the Graveyard when summoned, going far beyond than looking for "Polymerization". As mentioned before "Elemental HERO Shadow Mist" can be sent to the Graveyard so we can obtain a HERO in our hand, and combined with the effect to get "Polymerization" is quite likely that we obtain all the pieces for a Fusion Summon on the spot. Destiny HEROs provide all sorts of benefits as soon are in the Graveyard that makes them great candidates for "Vyon" ability, ranging from "Destiny HERO - Dreamer" and "Destiny HERO - Malicious" summoning effects to "Destiny HERO - Celestial" providing drawing power. "Elemental HERO Neos" is a special case as pretty much requires its own Deck, but with the help of "Vyon" we can dispose of him to then follow with cards like "Miracle Contact" and "O - Oversoul" to summon strong monsters with. Speaking of which, cards like "Miracle Fusion" and "Dark Calling" can use the sent HERO as material by banishing it from the Graveyard. Finally, due "Vyon" not having strong stats to stay for long on the board, we should easily follow with a new summon by either using him as material for the just obtained "Polymerization" or for other setups involving cards like "Mask Change" or even Link Summons. Keep on mind that while sending HEROs to the Graveyard can only be used once per turn, there's a tamer restriction on obtaining several "Polymerization" copies if we are able to gather various "Vyon" together.
While "Vision HERO Vyon" is capable to play alone with its own abilities combining together, depending of the HERO Deck we are playing along with its possibilities will increase considerably. Members like "Elemental HERO Shadow Mist" and Destiny HEROs will obtain Graveyard effects to support us further, while certain monsters and effects will obtain great shortcuts to prepare strong summons with ease. Obviously obtaining "Polymerization" shouldn't be ignored, as in an archetype all about Fusion Monsters is most likely that we'll obtain one of many big monsters effortlessly. If anything "Vyon" itself should be disposed immediately as its poor stats makes it an easy target of many attacks, which fortunately is easily solved by not only the "Polymerization" we'll gain by its aid but also all other kinds of Extra Deck setups we can quickly work right away. While clearly dependant of “Shadow Mist” for the best outcomes possible, "Vyon" easily becomes a handy monster no matter which HEROs and setups we are aiming for.
Personal Rating: A
+ Sends a HERO monster from the Deck to the Graveyard when summoned + Can banish a HERO from our Graveyard to obtain "Polymerization" + Sinergy with its own effects and other HEROs carrying Graveyard effects + Able to prepare all sorts of cheap summons
- Poor stats - Prioritizes working along "Elemental HERO Shadow Mist" for its best results
