no chill//Chapter 2 Body Discovery/Reaction// open
Mei had been with Hotaruko that night; both of them heard the scream. She had hoped it was just rough-housing, but they both knew rough-housing didn’t sound like that.
They both race to the second floor, hoping that everything was fine- it wasn’t. Mei’s eyes descended on the view of Shin Ikabe, bloody and bruised, slumped over.
Mei squeezed her eyes shut in disbelief, tears beginning to form; there was no way he had died. This really must have been a bad dream. She had seen it happen before, with Chihiro and Hisako, but... she didn’t know them like she knew Shin. She began to shake, now violently sobbing as she remembered the last days she and Shin spent together; talking in the hallway, drinking coffee- just getting to know him was an enjoyable experience.
Her face jolted upwards, her eyes puffy, as Monokuma made the second announcement. She trudged her way toward the cafeteria, not as quickly as before; she was still disturbed by what she had seen.
It wasn’t going to get any better.
Upon entering the cafeteria, she was greeted with another body.
Mei began to sob uncontrollably. Her lips quivered, she hiccuped as she hid her eyes. Someone killed over something as petty as the temperature. She could never forgive them.
As people began to flood into the room, she stepped outside of the cafeteria. She pressed her back against the wall and slid down to sit on the floor.
It was too much to take in.
