Vladimir's favourite household task to do (in every universe but especially in one's where he's a househusband) is laundry. In general, the whole process is calming to him

He finds sorting things relaxing, and folding clothes and whatnot can help ground Vladimir too. He's also insanely good at getting stains out including blood so take anything stained to Vladimir and he'll get it good as new :}

@callofdutyhater2 the idea you had a while back of Vladimir melting down when Yuri can't come to a meeting inspired me 👉🏻👈🏻 but comfort at the end!!!

Set during the Four Horsemen era. Vladimir's in charge of planning a meeting and. uh oh.

Warnings: separation anxiety, meltdowns, me projecting as always /srs, one hc that isn't 100% projecting but I'm throwing it in anyway (Vladimir stuttering)

Vladimir likes to think he's been doing a good job of masking. He hates organizing these meetings, after all; especially with new people.

His 'assistant' this time is a man around his age that most likely means well, but he hasn't spent any extended interactions with Vladimir, which means the Russian cannot fully trust him or his intentions. Vladimir thanks whoever's listening that it's going mostly well...

...Until it's time to plan the seating arrangement. The chairs have all been placed in a manner Vladimir's accustomed to, and since he's getting tired of hiding—and because Imran didn't mind; even encouraging Vladimir to do so—he's looking forward to sitting in Yuri's lap during this meeting.

"Yura can have that chair by the head," Vladimir says, pointing at it. "I'll be fine sitting with him."

Wrong choice of words.

The man now looks confused. "But... this is just a meeting for the Horsemen and their associates," he tries to counter. Or explain. Vladimir can't tell.

"And?" Vladimir's tone goes ice cold, feeling a spike of... something. "What does that have to do with Yura?"

"Well, he..." the man flinches, clearly not expecting the change. "He isn't a Horseman, so..."

Vladimir slams a hand on the table, frightening the other man even more. "What the fuck does that have to do with anything?" He snarls. "So because I have a title and Yura doesn't, he's not allowed i-in—s-something..."

The Russian cuts himself off quickly. Of course his stutter had to return due to the stress. He doesn't hear what the other man says, his voice becoming unclear to Vladimir.

Vladimir's starting to breathe faster, to scratch at his neck and arms through his clothes, before he manages to speak again in response to whatever the other is saying: "No. F-fuck this. I'm n-not going."

He whirls around and leaves the room, walking hurriedly away as the tears start coming too. How dare he try and separate Yurochka from me?! Vladimir thinks furiously, trying like hell to find a room to hide in as his mind races. Imran can yell at me for missing this. I don't fucking care. Maybe he'd understand. I don't care if he does or not. I don't fucking care—

"Volodenka, what's the matter?" As if a healing ray of light or something has suddenly been beamed upon Vladimir, Yuri's gentle voice cuts through the younger man's thoughts.

Vladimir looks up at his lover, and just seeing Yuri's kind face looking at him with worry has Vladimir bursting into tears and clinging to Yuri.

Yuri doesn't judge him. He never does. "Oh, darling, come here..." Yuri murmurs in concern, holding his lover close and rubbing his back. "It's alright, I'm here... I've got you..."

Hiding his face in Yuri's chest, Vladimir lets himself sob, no longer able to speak. But Yuri would never force him to. Yurochka is safe, always.

"Let's go somewhere a bit more quiet, okay?" Yuri kisses the top of Vladimir's head, and only when the younger nods does Yuri carefully pick his lover up and carry him to an empty room.

Seating the two on a couch in the room and making sure the door is shut, Yuri then rocks Vladimir in his lap, whispering sweet and soothing things to his lover.

And as usual, safe in the arms of his lover, Vladimir can calm down completely.
