VLD christmas episode idea
I seriously wish VLD would have had a musical+christmas episode.
It would have started with the paladins wondering how long have they being in space to realize it’s almost christmas back on Earth. Of course everybody would turn heads down about it, even Keith which would give Lance a little moment to bother him before realizing he is really depressed by the fact that he’s hella far away from his family (with them probably thinking he’s dead) in a holiday were expending time with the family is a fundamental thing.
Of course Allura and Coran would be all curious this human holiday. Everybody would parcialy tell them about christmas, like about the tree, the gifts, santa, snow, etc before not wanting to talk too much about the theme and go doing other things.
Then Allura and Coran would decide to recreate this festivity so important to the paladins, and here’s where the music starts. They would sing about secretly prepare a Christmas party for the paladins as they use the mices to get enough information about it. Each paladin would sing to the mices (like you know when you are sad and you start talking to your pets. No? Just me?) about what Christmas means for them and how do they see it, each of them in a different music genre.
Of course, the paladins would notice Allura and Coran acting weird the whole day and would try to figure out what is going on, the alteans members of the team would get pretty much things about Christmas wrong or out of hand (Example: Coran searching for a literally bioluminicent tree with no similarity to pine and trying to recreate something similar to a star on the top of it), and everybody would try to at least get/make a christmas present for everybody else while singing softly about the other members of the voltron team and what they mean for them. And maybe one or two moments with characters who usually don’t interact bonding with each other.
By the end of the episode the Castle would get to a planet where Allura modified any window or visor in the ship to not let anybody look to what’s outside. Then she and Coran would gather them in the bridge wearing a red and white outfit (Coran actually dressed as Santa) and surprise surprise, there’s a bioluminicent tree, a huge meal with food not even the alteans know exactly what it is, and “un-blocking” the visors revealing they are in a snow planet with a lot of auroras in the sky.
Everybody is speechless and Allura and Coran would apology for not fully aiming the Christmas look and spirit before the paladins run to them and hug them smiling from ear to ear and saying it’s perfect.
Then everybody would start exchanging their hand made pretty lame but beautiful gifts and having a christmas dinner, then going outside to play in the snow, the episode would end with the voltron team playing in the snow (optional plus imagine your favorite ship gets an static shot of them doing team up against the others in a snowball fight) then the camera would look up to the sky where the auroras have the representative color of every team member. All of this in a musical number where you can hear all the paladins singing about what christmas is (it is joy, it is share, it is being with the family, etc) as it focus each voltron team member when they get to sing their part and singing all together at the end.
