Hello, fellow Barris shippers! I'm putting together a booklet of a few of my early barris fics to print and put on etsy in a small, amateur zine. You mentioned that for a long time Crow isn't certain of how invested Az is in their friendship- aside from bits in the book such as when he takes Crow's hand, how do you think Az goes about convincing Crow that he really enjoys his company and values him for himself rather than because there's no other non-human company?
well the biggest way would just be spending time together, which i headcanon they do (more than is implied for tv verse). they certainly reach a point where they’re terribly chummy, the whole “my side vs your side” bit is mostly for show. i think by then it’s mostly just a little thing Crow will always be worried about, just part of his normal anxiety. there may have been reason for it in the past but now there’s far less. (Az isn’t even aware of it until much later)
