You felt absolutely terrible. Yes, sure, you were still recovering from the flu. But that was doing pretty well. You felt better physically than you had in two weeks. But your boyfriend Wonwoo just texted that he, now, had the flu himself. And you just knew that this was on you. He had come to your apartment to check up on you many times last week, he took care of you: Ran a warm bath, made you soup and even read to you. It was absolutely no coïncidence that he got sick right after you got a bit better. And right before christmas, too.
You had already apologized to him over the phone, but he told you not to feel bad. You did, however, feel really bad about it. So you put a warm blanket in your bag, brought your heating pad and a thermal bottle with chicken soup, put on a warm coat, and went to see Wonwoo.
He had a startled look on his face as he opened the door.
“What..?” His voice was hoarse, his eyes watery.
You smiled and held the thermal bottle up, “I brought soup.”
He laughed a deep laugh, "Wow, I asked for you, and I actually got you. That Santa guy really is amazing."
You rolled your eyes and walked past him, into his apartment.
“Bit early for christmas presents though, christmas morning isn’t until wednesday.”
You laughed, “Christmas came early, I guess. I brought a heating pad, coffee and a blanket. If we’re both gonna be sick, we’re gonna be sick together.”
He clicked his tongue and coughed, “Please, you need to go home. You should be taking care of yourself, not me.”
You had planned on draping the blanket over the couch, but what he said made you just drop it on there. You walked to him, a stern look on your face. You took his head in your hands and kept eye contact, "I'm the reason you got sick in the first place. So yes, I am indeed going to take care of you. You took care of me, I take care of you.” You planted a small peck on his lips and walked back to continue laying down the blanket.
“Thank you.” he mumbled, you could hear the grin he had on his face as he said that.
Before you knew it you were cuddled up on the couch, chicken soup ready and a book in your hand. Wonwoo had his eyes closed as you read to him.
Even though you were both sick, being together made you both feel better. And knowing you could take care of him, even just reading to him, made you feel less sick than you’d felt in weeks.
28 "I think I'm in love with you." + 32 "Your feet are so cold!"
"Are you warm enough now?" Your boyfriend Seungkwan asked. He tucked you in a blanket about 10 minutes ago because he was convinced you were cold. He was right, of course. You'd come to his apartment while a storm was going on outside and, god, had you been cold when you arrived at his place. You didn't want to ask for a blanket though, afraid to be a burden. You hadn't been dating that long and you didn't want to seem needy.
"I am. Thank you." You smiled lovingly at him.
He nodded to confirm and then turned back to the television screen. You were watching a movie, you weren't sure which because you hadn't paid much attention to it. Some sort of musical. Seungkwan seemed to enjoy it and you were sure you would too, if your head hadn't been so full with… well, your feelings.
You'd figured out that what you felt for Seungkwan wasn't just "liking him" anymore. Sure, you were dating, but was that it? Would he want it to be more if you asked?
He took a hand of popcorn from the bowl between you and shoved it all in his mouth at once, making you chuckle fondly. He didn't notice.
"Oh look, that's what I was talking about. The range of that woman is insane. What a great belt."
You made a sound in agreement, "That was amazing, she's a great singer."
Seungkwan turned his head back to you, a big smile on his face while nodding, "She really is. She's my favorite actor ever. Not only are her acting skills amazing, her singing is flawless."
You laughed, "I hear I've got competition."
You sort of regretted that the moment the words left your mouth. Was that weird? Too much too soon? He laughed at your joke so that must mean it wasn't too much. He liked it at least.
You watched the movie in silence for a while, watching while both of you ate from the popcorn. It wasn't awkward, it felt more like you both enjoyed each other's company. The silence between you was comforting in a way.
Still, the feeling was gnawing at you. You had promised yourself you would tell him how you felt tonight. And even though you still had plenty of time, it felt like you had to hurry.
"Hey, are you doing alright?" Seungkwan asked after a while, the bowl was almost empty.
This was the perfect setup, you had to take this opportunity. You straightened up, picked up the bowl and put it on the table and then looked him straight in his eyes. They stood worried, making you feel all fuzzy. Warm fuzzy, good fuzzy. He really cared about you.
"I wanted to talk to you about something."
"Alright…" He grabbed the remote and paused the film, "Shoot."
"Right, well… I, um." You hadn't thought this far ahead, "Well I've really enjoyed our time together," you realized that this sounded like you,were breaking up with him, "And I don't want that to end."
Seungkwan frowned, "Me neither. I really, really like you."
"Good, good. I just wanted to say that I think I'm in love with you. And it's fine if you don't feel the same, I just wanted to let you know."
His frown turned into a smile, then into a laugh filled with happiness, "Well, I definitely am in love with you."
You felt the blood rush to your cheeks in record time.
Seungkwan moved closer to you, stopping mere inches from your face, "Can I kiss you?" He whispered.
You couldn't breathe, so you just nodded. Softly, his lips touched yours, and you lost yourself. Your arms were wrapped around him in no-time, pulling him in closer. He happily agreed, his one hand in your hair, the other gently caressing your cheek. Before you knew it you were laying on the couch, no longer sitting on it, and suddenly the blanket between you was too warm. With one hand you pulled the blanket from in-between you and threw it over him, so you could share it.
Suddenly he pulled away, "Your feet are so cold!" He laughed.
You couldn't do anything but laugh, "Well, I don't feel cold at all anymore."

"Tae, I'm not bringing my keys tonight, okay? Don't forget yours!" You yelled from the bathroom so that your boyfriend Taemin, who was in the living room, could hear you.
"Me? Forget my keys? Like I would ever forget something like that." He joked.
You laughed sarcastically "If you take them, I won't have too and I don't have enough room in the bag I'm planning to take with us."
After the long day of work you had had, you needed a break. You were always happy to come home, especially since you lived with Taemin. It had only been for a few weeks, but they had truly been the best few weeks of your life. But when you came home today Taemin told you he had made reservations at this amazing restaurant in town.
So you took a quick shower and were now making yourself presentable. Doing some last touch ups on your makeup and popping in some earrings.
"Maybe if you'd remove that ridiculous amount of key chains, they would fit." He smiled as he walked into the bathroom, his eyes widening at the sight of you.
You laughed "You don't understand, that's half the charm."
He chuckled awkwardly, looked away and scratched the back of his neck "Right…"
For the past few days, you had noticed he'd been acting weird. Kind of shaky and nervous. You hadn't really thought much of it, but you had been too afraid to ask him about it. Though you knew that if something was wrong, he wouldn't make dinner reservations.
"Come on Taemin! We wouldn't want to be late." You laughed as you waited outside the door.
You heard him laugh "I just… I almost forgot something."
He slowly came walking out of the door, smiling at you as he saw you stand there.
"Oh wait!" He turned back to the door, but it had fallen shut already "Oh… no."
You immediately knew what was up "Don't tell me you forgot to bring the keys."
He banged his head against the door "I did."
You couldn't help but chuckle, you had told him so clearly to take it with him and not forget. Only Taemin would still forget it then.
"I thought that was what you still had to get?"
While you were laughing, Taemin seemed like he was about to panic "No. No I forgot it. What do we do now?"
You shrugged "Call the landlord I guess." You looked around, maybe there were other options like… anything.
When you looked back down, Taemin was sitting on one knee in front of you, a little box in his hands. You immediately knew what was happening.
"Will you marry me?"
For a few seconds you didn't say anything, not because you didn't want to say anything, mainly because this shocked you.
"Did you just really ask me to marry you the minute you realized you locked us out?" Was the first thing you said, for some reason.
He smiled "It wasn't the minute after, two minutes at least. I was planning on asking you in the restaurant, I had been planning on that all week, but for some reason now seemed like a better moment."
“Now seemed like a better moment than over a romantic dinner?” You asked with a raised eyebrow, then suddenly it fell into place “Wait, is that why you’ve been acting so strange?”
He looked away “Me? Acting strange? No. I’m relaxation itself, why would this be stressful?”
You chuckled.
“And the fact that you haven’t given me an answer yet doesn’t make this even more stressful at all.”
“I’m pretty sure I already said yes.”
He laughed “No. No you did not. I don’t think I would forget that.”
You acted like you thought about it “No I’m positive I already said yes.”
He shook his head and stood up again, wrapping his arms around your waist with a smirk on his face.
“I love you.” He whispered.
You smirked back and kissed his chin “I love you too.”

Soonyoung was known to show up in the middle of nowhere with the craziest plans. He was the kind of person to stand in front of your door and ask you if you wanted to go on an adventure. All through summer he had taken you to the most amazing places with the craziest ideas.
He had taken you out on a midnight swim in the, at the time closed, public pool. You'd never had to run from the police before, until that Day. Apparently someone had heard the two of you and they called the cops. You had been paranoid for weeks later that the police would come get you, but it had been a wonderful night. And Soonyoung explained they never went after people there because the trespassing there happened all the time so it wasn't a big deal.
He once stood at your door with bags filled with stuff for water fights, and he dared you to a battle. You ran around your street with water guns and water balloons for hours.
And the spontaneous picnics, the camping trip he planned, he had forgotten his sleeping bag so you had to share yours. He took you on walks, bought you ice cream you ate underneath pillow forts and so many little, spontaneous things.
But now summer was ending, you already notices the days getting shorter. You were traveling through the dark every morning already, and you could feel your mood go down little by little every day. You knew Soonyoung wouldn't be able to take you to spontaneous places with spontaneous plans as much anymore and you wouldn't see him as much.
You didn't tell him about that concern, but somehow he knew. He had always been good at reading you and your emotions, it's one of the reasons you got along so well. He knew you were having a hard time, and he knew you were afraid you wouldn't see him anymore and he'd forget about you.
He would never want you to feel that way, especially since it wasn't true. Just like he came up with fun things in summer, he would continue to do so in winter.
One night you were feeling particularly off, your day had been hectic and the food you had tried to warm up in the microwave hadn't been very warm.
You were on your couch, working on some unimportant things for work when there was a knock on the door.
"Soonyoung?" You asked as you opened the door, quite surprised to see him.
"Hi." He greeted you with a big, goofy smile on his face "are you free?"
You nodded.
His smile turned mischievous, and he said the one thing that always managed to make you smile "Do you wanna go on an adventure?"
You had been driving for quite a while, the world had turned dark, but with the headlights of the car you could see you were on a road. there were no street lights or anything, just one big blanket of darkness.
And then he suddenly stopped driving.
"Wait here." He told you.
You frowned but nodded. What on earth was he up to now?
You heard him walk around the car, lights left on, music too. Then the door on your side opened, and his face popped up beside you. He stood with his back bend, overing you a hand. He looked like some kind of prince, especially with the light of the headlights hitting him the way they did. His smile was charming, and he looked breathtakingly beautiful.
"Dance with me." It wasn't a question, more like a statement. His smile turned wider when you saw your surprised eyes.
"N-now? Here..?" You asked him.
He didn't answer, just chuckled, took your hand, and escorted you out of the car and to the front of it. He brushed a strand of hair behind your ear.
"Hold on." He whispered, running back to the car and turning the music up.
He placed both his hands in your waist and smiled at you. You couldn't help but smile back as you wrapped your arms around your neck. You moved in the rhythm of the music and time seemed to stop.
"This is nice." He whispered softly after a while.
You nodded, your head resting in the crook of his neck. And then you sighed as you remembered the things you'd been dreading for a while.
"What's up?" He asked "That sounded like you're thinking about bad things, now's not the time to think about bad things."
The way he said it made you chuckle, he was silly and you loved him for that. Even now he managed to cheer you up.
"Spill it," He said sweetly, "maybe I can help."
For a second you wondered if you should tell him or not. Was it something you had to discuss or something that was better kept to yourself?
"It's just that it's getting cold again. And I'm afraid you won't hang out with me as much now." The words left your mouth without you even realizing it, and you immediately wished you could take them back.
Soonyoung was silent for quite some time, his head still resting on yours, but you could feel a muscle in his jaw tighten and loosen a few times as if he was thinking hard about what to respond.
Then you could feel him smile "The weather doesn't control whether I'll come by or not." He said slowly, softly, trying to comfort you "Yes, we won't be able to go swimming anymore or something summery like that, but there are loads of things you can do in winter too. Like this. And I enjoy spending time with you too much to let myself get stopped by the weather. So don't worry, okay?"
You nodded. That made you feel a lot better.
A slow song came up, a beautiful melody that filled the air. It seemed like you and soonyoung got even closer to each other, like your bodies weren't pressed against each other already. And it felt like this moment got framed. Like someone put a picture frame around it to keep it safe and sound, to keep it from ripping. You wanted to remember this moment forever.
"I…" Soonyoung said, very softly, barely hearable over the music erupting from the car "I think I'm in love with you."
Your heart stopped beating, seemed to miss a few beats before beating even faster. Your breathing stuck in your throat. You were in love with him, too.
You wanted to put this moment in a picture frame and hang it where you could always see it.
