What are the Benefits of Increasing WBC Count Vegetarian
Looking for ways to increase your White Blood Cell Count? A vegetarian diet may be the answer. Here's what you need to know about the benefits of increasing your white blood cell count through diet.
Panicking that I'm dying because ofc I googled "what causes high wbc count in urine" before getting my official urinalysis results.
I got those at 10:18pm and my WBC count is 17, the leukocytes are at a 3+ and the bacteria? Trace.
Idk if that means the bacteria is all up inside of me and no longer coming out in my urine or if it means I'm dying or both 😂😭 I should know better than to Google shit. But like I'm in so much pain all of the time so something is happening. And Google is all like "oh you have x symptom? Yeah you have cancer" or oh oh what did I learn the other day when I googled my symptoms.. oh! Septicemia! 😂😭😭 I had to Google it again. Whyyyy

Hello sweet people! I spent today's free time searching for what is the cause of leukocytosis in sickle cell anemia =P
There are multiple causes for leukocytosis in sickle cell disease. Here are a few reasons for the pathogenesis of increased WBC count in SCD -
1. Over stimulation of bone marrow for compensation of anemia: Chronic medical conditions induce stimulation of the bone marrow as compensation for either anaemia or thrombocytopenia result in secondary leukocytosis. These conditions include haemolytic anaemias, such as sickle cell anaemia, in which leukocytosis is commonly found.
2. Altered RBC's are recognised and destroyed by white blood cells: Sickle red cells also show a loss of phospholipid asymmetry with externalization of phosphatidylserine (PS), which is believed to play a significant role in promoting macrophage recognition with removal of erythrocytes (erythrophagocytosis).
3. Recurrent bacterial infections: In sickle cell disease, there's an increased susceptibility to invasive bacterial infections because of dysfunctional antibody production, opsonophagocytosis, abnormalities of the alternate complement pathway, leukocyte functions, cell-mediated immunity and defective splenic clearance. Iron overload due to chronic blood transfusions is also a predisposing factor.
That's all!
Have a lovely day <3
