random thought that just popped up in my head outta nowhere after reading 215 but if suo really does have a tattoo or branding of the red chanpuru on his back.. I wonder how it felt having nirei cling to that very back for protection (2). and protecting nirei with that back (1). like suo and nirei mostly have zero personal space between them and it must've not been present at all especially during their private training. like. did it ever cross his mind when nirei, almost everyday, was in that close proximity to him? to that mark? did it ever make him feel weird or idk how to word this. but like. feel the weight of that realisation or smth.. ending up being a sort of reminder for suo. Keeping him rooted to the reality of the situation, of the involvement he's always had , has and might always have.. that he'll never be able to escape. That he'll forever be bound to the fate he never actually had any choice in? Or was it actually comforting to him seeing how readily nirei trusted his back? That he was relying on that very back without any doubts, despite suo keeping so many secrets, despite nirei not knowing what lay beneath the fabric on his back and actually showing him true warmth and friendship even still? If he ends up revealing the tattoo/branding theory to be true I'll go crazy like wdym you let the boy cling to you like that even so??
CRAZY AND SAD AND ANGSTY AT THE SAME DANG TIME IT HURTS
