Key Changes I’m Making to Canon for my Fic

Set in the late 90s

Bella is 18 and in her senior year at the start of the story

This means that Edward, Rosalie, and Jasper are seniors as well. Emmett will be a senior who’s had to repeat the year. Alice will be a junior.

The vampires can blush, cry, have freckles/beauty spots, etc

They also have fangs that retract when not hunting/hungry

More diversity!

On that note: I’m doing my research on the Quileute tribe, their stories and their culture in order to represent them better

Today's Walking Photos: Store Signs From The Apocalypse.

Top one is from a Subway outpost. If they were trying to create the impression of having made a hasty and desperate departure, I’d say they succeeded. In addition to the chosen verb tense of to close and, I dunno, the spelling of THE STORE WHERE THEY WORK, the street name they’re looking for is Barbur Blvd., and the city in which this is all taking place is…wait for it…Portland. I really don’t know what happened here. Maybe someone was feeling bitter.

In stark contrast is the stern – but accurate – sign posted at my neighborhood pharmacy. Neat, clean, all-caps typography and a double deployment of the STAY HOME directive. Judging by the behavior of some, it’s a message worth repeating. Ah well.
