"He's dead George, there's nothing you can do about it" You try to tell George as he scans the library shelves for anything that might help him with his quest. He wanted to bring Fred back, his twin brother, he lived in a world of magic after all so he thought why couldn't he just use some sort of spell and bring him back. But that wasn't the case, not at all. There wasn't any spell that could bring his twin back to life no matter how much searching was done. Fred was gone and George had to accept that, but that didn't mean he couldn't grieve first.
"There has to be something though! Some book, some spell, something anything that could bring him back!" George was frantic as he spoke, picking up random books and rummaging through them trying to find anything remotely helpful. There was nothing though, not a single word on bringing someone back to life.
"Why don't we sit down George?" You spoke softly looking up at George from where you stood. You watched him take a deep breath and begin to shake his head.
"No, no, I need to keep looking, there's gotta be something here, there's got to be" You place a hand on George's shoulder trying to bring his attention away from the books and to you.
"There's nothing that's going to help you, nothing that'll work, nothing at all" You could see the way George's jaw clenched and he looked down before he started to shake.
"Oh George" You spoke as you wrapped you arms around him allowing him to place his head on your shoulder as he cried. You slowly guided him towards a small couch at the end of the bookshelf and took a seat still holding George against you.
"It's going to be ok, it'll just hurt first for a while" George merely nods at your words still crying as he hugs you tighter. One of you hands move up to brush your fingers through his hair, his breathing becoming lighter and his crying subsiding.
"I loved him so much, I still do. He was my brother, my best friend and now he's gone and I'll never see him again" George was heartbroken and it was evident in the way he looked and sounded. His eyes puffy and red from crying, his nose snotty as he sniffed, his voice strained and weak, his eye bags heavy. George had lost the closest person to him, the one who knew him best, who was always there for him, who supported him through everything. Who pulled pranks with him and skipped glass, snuck around the halls at night and ran from teachers. The one who he dropped out with and opened a joke store with him, the one who fought alongside him and made a huge impact on his life. The two boys were inseparable and now Fred was gone and George was lost. You looked at George with sad eyes and place your hand in his.
"I can't begin to imagine how hard this must be for you George, I know how much Fred meant to you and how much love you two had for each other. But he'll still always he with you, in the joke store, in the pranks and in here" Your free hand was now placed on his heart as you looked into George's eyes.
"Fred loved you George, he loved you so much and I'm sure he'll be watching over you until you see him again. But until then I will always be here for you George, always. I may not be Fred but I am your friend and I just want you to be ok" Producing a weak smile as tears filled his eyes once more George pulled you back into a tight hug as he spoke.
"Thank you Y/n, for everything. For this and for every other time"
