Weatherwax And Ridcully - Discon06

This is a picture of Discworld's Granny Weatherwax and Archchancellor Mustrum Ridcully cooking up a brew.

This was my initial entry for the Discworld Convention of 2006. They only really wanted vertical pictures to put on the magazine if it had won best entry, so I had to create a new picture.

Ok am I crazy or was Terry Pratchett audhd because ALLL OF THE WITCHES AND WIZARDS are autism/adhd coded and they’re done WELL, like, Tiffany Aching I feel you, Granny Weatherwax I want to be you when I’m old, Nanny Ogg, the ADHD is strong with this one, literally every wizard would have been diagnosed before the age of 12 in the modern day, there’s no freaking way that’s a coincidence on Terry Pratchett’s part, he’s one of us I can feel it in my bones

Who's the hot griffon in the picture?

Gyrinok, the Bane of Platinum’s Court. He was something of a bandit king that ruled over the region ages ago - gave the Unicorn monarchy utter fits Legend claims he was slain by some hero upon the Candlemount, the seventh son of a seventh son of.. Y’all get the picture. Hmph. I suppose hero is a loaded term, as the heroic status of one individual varies greatly depending on whose side you’re on, but themsa breaks. History is ultimately written by the victor and all tha jazz. 

If the old records are to be believed he was half Tartarian, which I’d believe if he was anywhere near as big of a thorn in the side for the old unicorn kingdoms. And.. Well, it’d be around the right time in antiquity for there still to be large concentrations of Tartarians still wandering the mortal planes, exceptions like Siravon excluded. Supposedly he was a real demon in battle, as befits a creature with the bloodline of Tartarus - Auntie Odd... Err. Well. Auntie Odd also claims he was a real demon in the sack as well.

Tartarus, she claims he was one of her main squeezes, and his spirit is imprisoned in that painting because of some slight he inflicted upon her.
