You were, are, his everything. So when he had to stay away from you after the accident. It broke him apart. It felt like a part of his heart, his soul was missing. He missed you so much, every single day. When he saw you in that line up, he couldn't believe his eyes. Are you stupid? What are you doing here?
He had to protect you at any cost. Even if it made you hate him.
In the interrogation room, all he wanted was to collapse into your arms. To just hold you again. But he couldn't, it would all be worth it. He just had to restrain himself for a little while.
On his birthday, he couldn't believe that you felt the same way. He had always wanted to be more than "just Caleb" or "your brother." He wanted to be "your Caleb," "your boyfriend." He had once thought that it would be ok just to be by your side, but he wanted more. He needed more. So when he had the chance to finally be yours, he didn't hesitate. He felt as if that night, no, the whole day, was by far the best thing that could happen to him. Passion converging. His body uniting with your body. You finally realizing his heart is only yours, both now and forever. It felt like paradise.
He couldn't believe how lucky was to be able to marry you. He never thought he'd be granted this honor. To be by your side forever. Your husband. His wife. He felt giddy just thinking about it. Soft mornings, late nights, all spent with you. His lovely wife.
