               there was a rumbling laugh that seemed to be pulled from his chest, head even tilting back at the other’s words.  a hand came to his chest as if trying to calm himself from the amusement he apparently got from caro’s words.  there they were, in an alley  &&  magnus had just caused havoc in a nearby club that certainly left some dead or near death  ----   he would do his father proud, he was sure.

             “    you’re kidding me, right   ?    “    he asked, blinking the tears from his eyes that seemed to be from laughter, but who really knew.    “   when did you ever give me a chance, caro  ?   you didn’t.   one day you just stopped talking to me, stopped coming around  &&  never gave me a reason.  you didn’t give me a chance  !      “     the last words coming out in a yell, magnus briefly feeling the ground shake beneath his feet  &&  he forced himself to calm only because he wasn’t in the mood.    “     screw your chance.    “
