Week 3 sketch, it's about Stella bat because it's October

Another week finished, only 5 days to go... Week 3 was so stressful, I think I'm slowly losing my mind, and the weather wasn't kind to us so me and some comrades got terribly sick.

Shooting exam went horribly wrong, scored 7-9-0, final shot missed because of my headache but at least I passed with grade above 15

Some people, including my roommates, seemed to act strange toward me, or something else. I should be more cautious

Weekly R.E.P.O.R.T:

Reading: The Mountain in the Sea by Ray Nayler. It's a book about androids, octopi, and people, and above all it's a book about communication and humanity versus personhood. It's so, so good.

Eating: The coffeeshop I went to has such a lovely flight of drinks, I really enjoyed it. I'm such a sucker for unusual coffee flavors and this flight had a rose-flavored coffee, a coconut-flavored coffee, and an orange-flavored coffee. Delightful!

Playing: Have you heard Stardew Valley has a new update? Because it does. Needless to say, I'm already on year two of a new savefile.

Obsessed: It's springtime! All the flowers are blooming! Everything is blossom-themed right now and it's delightful. Am I allowed to say I'm obsessed with the seasons changing? Because I am. I struggle with the gloominess of winter influencing my depression, so having sunshine and flowers all around has been lovely.

Recommending: I've been making a concentrated effort to socialize with more people and have started attending weekly trivia sessions. It's so much fun! Even if you're not good at it, it's a great way to laugh and make new friends. Highly recommend!

Touching grass: I decided to change this from treat to touching grass, because sometimes it's hard to disconnect! Anyways, yesterday I went with a friend to a park by the water and together we watched the most stunningly beautiful sunset.

reading: just finished annihilation by jeff vandermeer (sooo good. i love insane women) and now reading still life by sarah winman. i bought it bc it had a pretty cover, i don’t really like world war II books but i like the way it talks about renaissance art. also some very interesting articles about digital technology manufacturing & usage for my film & media studies class.

eating: my dad sent me some homemade biscotti so ive been having that dipped in coffee :)

playing: the sims 4 a bit, trying to get one of my sims to level 10 skiing (she’s on level 8 now)

obsessing: i have been obsessively looking at my pinterest feed… so much cool clothes + quirky ceramics + pictures of snoopy and muppets

recommending: hbomberguy and philosophytube’s video essays on plagiarism! very different approaches but both are very well researched & fascinating.

treating: got boba tea with a friend today :) and there’s been eggnog in the dining hall which i’ve been enjoying

Weekly Check In:

Am I irritated that today had a weirdly large gain to thwart my overall net loss? Yes, but it’s still a net loss of 4.4lb! Not too shabby for the first week.

Now things are going to slow down and get harder, but I was thinking that I’m ready to try yoga again. Let’s see how it goes.

Weekly Report: May 3rd - 9th

I’m bringing back the weekly report because it kept me accountable to my debt free and sustainable life goals. I guess I got lazy when I moved to New York and haven’t been the most green or debt free, but that’s something I need to change with better habits. Hopefully this will continue to keep me accountable.

zero waste: work on finishing up old lotions and hair care items so that I can eventually be entirely zero waste in my shower routine.

minimalist: continue to sort of my closet and decide if I want to keep everything or purge. 

debt-free: Work on earning an additional $10 via a side hustle.
