He sat on the floor near the end of his bed, tears rolling down his face, his head on his knees . He wore no shirt and had his scars on full display. Bakugo was still at work and wouldn't be home for a couple hours. He was turning 25 next week and was dreading it. He knew his scars were ugly and disgusting, they were red, some were raised and bumpy, some were large bubbled burns and red bloody messes when they were bumped against even the softest of surfaces. He also found a couple grey hairs and noticed small wrinkles near his mouth. He noticed the fat all over his body, the stretch marks that were everywhere, his thighs, his arms, his chest.
He looked up from his knees and stared at his face, the scar running down under his eye. He took in his red puffy eyes, the scars on his arms and hands, he dropped his knees apart and looked at the rolls on his stomach, there stretch marks and scars littered his skin, he saw the freckles no one knew he hated, he only saw flaws, no beauty, no perfection, nothing worth his wonderful boyfriend. His Kacchan was the epitome of perfection, he was everything Deku wasn't.
Kacchan didn't deserve to be stuck with a nothing like him, someone so destroyed and disgusting. Someone so broken, so hurt, so weak, someone not worth anything, someone not worthy of the love he is given. He wanted to leave, for the sake of Kacchan, but he didn't know if he could do that, he didn't know if he could survive seeing him with someone else. He wouldn't be able to survive seeing Kacchan kiss someone else, hug someone else, love someone who wasn't him. But, he would suffer to make Kacchan happy, he loved him enough to let him go, to make sure he got everything he deserves, everything he wanted. He would give up everything for Kacchan, he would do anything to see that soft smile grace Kacchan's face, even if it meant destroying himself in the process, even if it meant letting go of everything good in his life, sacrificing everything he has for his love, even his own happiness to see him smile.
What he didn't know was that the best thing in Bakugo's life was him. Kacchan knew that if Izuku ever left him, he would break, he would be destroyed, he would die. Izu was his everything, most days, he's the only reason he smiles. His day at work will suck and he'll be angry until he opens the door and sees his perfect boyfriend there making dinner. When he turns around a big smile will fill his face and he has no choice, but to smile back. Or he'll come home and that green hair will be bouncing with excitement and he'll drop his stuff and that boy will jump into his arms. Other times he can't save someone before they get hurt or someone doesn't make it, that boy will be at his office to give him hugs and kisses and reassuring words until he can breathe normally again. He has found the only days he actually has a good day are ones that start with him waking up next to him, and ones that end with the green haired boy in his arms as they fall asleep. He only has a few reasons to live and most of them are that boy or because of him. He can't fix what he did, but he can try to make himself worthy of the wonderful little nerd he loves with all his heart.
Sadly, that wonderful little nerd doesn't know how bright he makes the world seem to his partner. He doesn't know about the nights Bakugo wakes up and just watches his little green bean sleep, the love found in his eyes while his lifeline, his other half, his whole world, sleeps snuggled up to him. He doesn't know how much Bakugo loves his little mumbles when he's focused or the smile that is so tender no one had seen it until the day Izuku said he would be his lover, his boyfriend.
Soon to be fiance, at least that's what Katsuki thought as he walked into their apartment, home early because he was feeling especially angry and knew staying would be a bad idea. He asked a newbie to take over the rest of his shift, he knew that kid needed the overtime experience, and the cash bonus that came with it. He arrived home around 4:30, an hour and a half before he would usually get home. He opened the door and was confused that he didn't see his little green haired strawberry boy bouncing around. He didn't see him in the kitchen or living room. He was either out or in the bedroom.
He walked over to the bedroom door after putting his shoes, bag, and coat away in the closet near the front door. He heard something coming from inside, it sounded vaguely human and like a sob. He opened the door and saw his perfect little angel on the floor, hugging his knees and staring at himself in the mirror. His eyes were red and the tear streaks on his face were obvious. He wore no shirt and a pair of small shorts that showed off his lower and mid thighs. He looked beautiful to his Kacchan, he looked like perfection, like everything Katsuki would ever and could ever need to make his life a happy one.
When the door opened Izuku looked over and saw him. He tried to move away and hide himself, he didn't think he should be seen by Kacchan like this, maybe if he did he would break up with Izuku. The tears started to flow like a faucet and immediately he was wrapped in Bakugo's arms and pulled close to his chest, near his heart that beat with a steady rhythm. He clutched onto his shirt like a child and hid his face in his chest.
He heard little whispers from above;
Don't cry, it'll be okay, everything will be alright.
I'm here and I will never let you go.
I love you forever and I never will stop, you never have to worry about me leaving.
I can't live without you, so don't leave me alone.
You mean everything to me, scars and all.
You are nothing if not perfection.
You make life worth living.
I would rather die than live in a world where you aren't my world.
You are not fat, those rolls are there so you can move, I have them too and that doesn't mean you are overweight.
Your stretch marks make you even more perfect because it just means there is more of you to love then before.
They are natural and part of growing up, when you grow, your skin has to stretch to accommodate the new differences in your body's shape and size.
What Izuku didn't realize is that he was mumbling all his worries through his tears and by the time Kacchan was done explaining how he meant everything to him, it was dark and he only hiccuped occasionally.
"You know, even though it's been 3 hours of just holding you, I'd never want to be anywhere else. You make my life chaotic and perfect. You cry and feel so intensely and I wouldn't want it any other way, because it's you. If it was the world or you, I'd choose you. I want to live a life with you, I want to be by your side and never leave it as long as I live. I want to die holding you in my arms, and when we're gone, our souls will stay intertwined forever, we will walk through the stars, the universe, together even after our earth has been consumed by a black hole or destroyed by the sun, we will be forever. We will never not be Kacchan and Deku. We are forever, our love, is forever." He smiled and pulled out a small box from his pocket. Izuku had started to cry halfway through his little speech.
"Please Izuku, be with me forever, be my everything. Izuku Midoriya, Will you marry me?" He opened the box and pulled out a little silver ring with a small diamond in the middle and next to it, two half-green, half-red jewels sat to the left and right sides. It was beautiful and matched their eyes. It was custom made by a known and expensive jeweler in Italy.
"I. . . I- I love you so much, Yes, I will marry you, I can't live without you Kacchan, my Kacchan." He replied.
The ring went on his finger, they kissed and soon they married. They lived forever together, created a family full of love and joy. Many long years together were spent with laughter and smiles all around. At an old age, happy and content, they died on their porch, on an old bench Katsuki had built for them so many years before, holding hands and smiling at each other. Izuku whispered "I love you Kacchan" then he died in Katsuki's arms, and very soon after, Katsuki followed, he'd follow Izuku to the ends of the earth, and even to the afterlife, so that's exactly what he did. He closed his eyes, pulled his love tighter, whispered one last time "I love you Izuku" and never opened them again.
He opened his eyes and it was bright and dark at the same time, he looked around and saw nothing until he saw the silhouette he had lived with for all his life. He stood and ran as fast as he could to him. He grabbed the boy, pulled him to his chest, and kissed his whole world.
"I missed you Kacchan," Izuku said smiling at his love
"It was only 10 minutes, nerd," Kacchan replied, smiling so wide.
"I would've waited right here forever for you," He said.
"And I would've wandered around forever to find you."
