Can we get more headcannons on the robo!Sans situation?
Sure! There’s a lot to cover here ovo
- Humans are a pretty advanced space-faring civilization at this point. To what degree, I’m not sure, but reader’s space station is far from the only one.
- Sans is a relatively newer model, but he’s been on the station longer than reader has. Possibly had been with other crew members before... also where he learned that a lot of humans didn’t really like how he look and acted.
- Everyone has varying degrees in their reaction to Sans when they see him, from restrained greetings, just ignoring him, to actively treating him like an alien killer. He’s used to it.
- Reader’s the first to treat him like he’s really alive.
- Sans requires minimum safety distance because of all of his tools and... general sharpness. He’s made to be adaptive since outer space is unpredictable. He can make slow, precise movements, but also skitter just like how real spiders run when he needs to be quick.
- One time, when reader had to go outside the station to make a human-required fix... Sans was there to accompany her, basically being her living shield whenever space debris came close
- Still surprises her because you can’t hear in space, and suddenly there’s a giant hulking metal spider approaching her...
- She always tries to hide her shock and nervousness around him and he thinks it’s adorable.
- She has no idea that Sans’ interactions with her are... intense.
- He always makes an effort to follow her and greet her during the artificial day cycle. To her, maybe it’s just... a coincidence that she passes him by in the hallways... or meets him in the cafeteria... or in front of the crew quarters.....
- No one knows that he follows her almost everywhere.
- And- it’s not like anyone’s going to stop him, all he does is ‘smile’, greet her with a “Good morning, crew member no. 55.” the encounter in the supply room is only the first time he got so close to her... she gets used to it the more he does it, and it almost makes him look cute in her eyes.
- He loves it when she actually looks happy to see him.
- She tells him to call her by name because “55″ is kind of weird... he doesn’t have an automated response for her name so he uses pieces of sound from his other responses to try to say her name. It sounds glitchy and broken, but she looks so happy when he says it, and he keeps saying it afterward
- There’s this scene I’m thinking about Sans falling hard while reader’s being soft with him... with him unable to contain his excitement, only does his programming restrictions stop him from doing anything irrational.
- If the crew knew what he’d do if he wasn’t restricted...
- ... they’re right to fear him.
