the amazing @wellnoe and i collaborated on this short xmen fancomic! i wrote the script and brenna did the art & colors & lettering. brenna and i share a love for storm and yukio's relationship so we thought this would be a fun little project 💜 as always, i'm blown away by her artistic talent. we hope you like it!

2. do you have a collection of anything?

(loose leaf) tea - currently it's earl grey sencha, houjicha, lychee jasmine zhenmei tea (my favourite), osmanthus tea (2nd fave), lapsang souchong, shizuoka matcha, masala chai, rose tea, and banlangen (板蓝根) from my parents. I utterly hate the last one, it has a horrible herbal taste and my mother plied me with it as a child whenever I was sick.

15. do you collect anything?

no, I have no personality and am quite boring. :-( I do have 3 scarves and have been kind of into textiles so I thrift nice-material clothes but that's it

hmm can i ask about rachel (new)?

you can! although the answer is not that exciting lol it is the krakoa-era rachel fic i am always threatening to write about faildaughter rachel and her eternal situationships and also her brain meltingly toxic relationship to jean

it is currently only 896 words long which is lame even for one of my WIPs but i think it tragically suffers from me having a couple ideas for scenes but not enough to actually tie the whole thing together

8. What's an old project idea that you've lost interest in I feel like I don’t lose interest in projects so much as I run out of time to do them nowadays. I had a bunch of ideas for a shortbox comics fair project and then got too busy to execute and meet the deadlines. same with some zines... I still want to do them!! Idk when though. I guess when I was a kid I used to be interested in more ambitious original writing, long form fantasy type stuff. I think if you really dig through my archives you can probably find ocs from ideas like that but I don’t have a lot of interest in pursuing stories like that anymore because... idk even writing short things is tough for me.

5. Estimate of how much of your art you post online vs. the art you keep for yourself

I think this is mostly because ive been “finishing” art less lately? or like... making less small things and more singular big/complex illustrations? idk. it’s tough, I want to post more because I like posting art on the internet. I grew up watching other people post art on the internet and wanting to do the same. there’s a lot of artists who don’t like it but its fun to me. unfortunately this whole year has kind of been like a non-posting year tho.

Which doesn’t make a lot of sense to me looking at the style alone but does like...make sense in the way that I think I share similar cultural inspirations with that comic like...being online in the mid 2000s...deviantart digital art type stuff. So even if there isn’t any direct inspiration there’s some shared dna probably.   I think I’ve hard art compared to transistor (the supergiant game) too and I think its like. a similar story there. Heck, If i drew more sexy characters my inking tendencies would probably get my art compared to hades just with how big that art style is culturally rn.too bad i only draw dumb looking kids.

I’ve never played a supergiant game. they look very nice and I rly respect them as a company but they’ve yet to make smth that’s really up my alley.

wah thank you. i do wonder how much i’m just projecting because i haven’t been reading a ton of comics lately. wish scott had a good writer rn

there's a scene from an x-men novel i think about a lot where scott makes a tactical decision jean disagrees with, but the entire team is standing right there and she won't undermine him, and she doesn't have her telepathy so she can't talk to him privately, and she gets really pissed and bitter about it. And i think that's a great character note for jean, and also something that really demonstrates how focused she is on team cohesion

SEE I LOVE THAT. But that FREQUENTLY gets misconstrued for submission, when in reality, Jean is just VERY MUCH LIKE LOGAN when it comes to some of Scott's decisions. She disagrees with him, but she was raised and trained to cooperate, work as a team, and step back when the field leader calls shots, because people die when you make mistakes. Logan's frequently talking out of his ass when he claims to "understand her", because he sees that impulsive side to her, that get-shit-done side of her, but he doesn't Understand that while Logan is a ~gritty realist~, Jean can still see from more than one angle and that's enough for her to trust other people.

i stopped before the cas episodes when i first watched the show but i was inspired and picked it back up and his entrance is the BEST. love that high pitched whining noise. best character ive seen in this show.

RIGHT? and yeah the noise (his actual voice) is cool, i really love that it took him two tries to say ‘fear not (gayly)’ before he figured out that maybe dean should not, in fact, be screaming in pain and bleeding from the ears and that he should probably go get his vessel
