The Twisted Tango
He danced with
A cruel hard cheekbone
Raised to the sky.
It was sharp and could cut
To the center of my damned
And unfortunate soul.
His eyes pulled me
Closer to him
With each step
I fell for him further.
His full and strong
Muscles pulsed and
Twitched in thier
Beautiful spasm.
His skin was tight
And pulled red from
His constant sweet dance
Of men and women.
His moves and temptations
Drew me in.
Pleasure and Pain.
I danced with the Devil and it looks like I couldn't win.

Maybe If I Was a Little Less Myself
Every time I try to write,
All that I can think is “What now?”
And I am not sure really
What I am about.
Maybe if I was a little less myself
I would know.
I am not too good at beginnings
Developing the characters
Having them make connections
Making connections myself
Meeting new people isn't my strong point
So I am sorry if we could have been good friends
Or fallen in love
Or if you could have made me a better person
Or I you
Hello, I am sorry, I’m sorry, I’m so sorry.
I am too shut up
Most times I open my mouth to speak
And all that comes out is a weak voice
One that I don't recognize
Maybe if I was a little less myself
We could be friends
Maybe if I wasn't so locked away within myself
Maybe if I wasn't silenced by misplaced guilt
Maybe then beginnings would be easier
I am also not particularly good at middles
Making a plot
Building up to climax
Fueling the passion of my story
Feeding my already made friendships
Keeping up with people isn’t one of my abilities
So I am sorry if we were good friends
Or if we did fall in love
Or if I affected you in the long run
Or if I accidentally blew you off
What’s up? I am sorry I just blanked, could you tell me again?
I am too fearful of aging and seeing those I love age
Most of the time when I am missing a friend
I sit for hours staring at older pictures of us
People who I recognize and remember
Maybe if I was a little less myself
I’d be better at keeping up
Maybe if I wasn’t so caught up with who we were
Maybe if I stopped looking at the wrinkles
Maybe then middles would be easier
I absolutely suck at endings
Tying up the loose ends
Leaving in-story satisfaction
Seeing that it is in fact the end
Knowing that the friendship is over
Accepting the end is one of my biggest struggles
So I am sorry if I keep nagging you
Or if I keep telling you how much I love you
Or if I keep beating a relationship I shot
Or if I don't realize you are blowing me off
Hey, where are you? We always used to meet here on Saturdays
I am too oblivious
Most of the time when it is over I don't notice
I don't see because I do not wish to see
Does anyone? Yes, evidently because their are good endings, not mine
Maybe if I was a little less myself
Maybe if I paid more attention to you
Maybe if I wasn't broken
Maybe endings would be easier
