Saw this question about an xfiles episode on reddit, and of course I was only interested in the jacket Scully was wearing.

But apparently I'm not the only one because someone posted this amazing number

One thing I absolutely love about this franchise is how the characters include their respective dragons into literally every conversation both casual and serious. It's never just, "Where is Hiccup?" It's always, "Where are Hiccup and Toothless." It's never, "The ingredients are in your satchel." It's, "The ingredients are in Toothless' saddle bag." Not just, "How are you holding up?" but always, "How are you guys holding up?" It's not, "How about an impartial judge for the Thorsten challenge? For the love of Thor take me with you." Instead it is, "How about a couple of impartial judges for the Thoston challenge? For the love of Thor, take us with you."

In most other media that involve an animal best friend, this is usually absent or not displayed as thoughtfully, the animal is usually missed in discussion or not included in such dialogue pieces but Httyd never does that. Dragons are always treated and included as equal individuals instead of just pets and I love that.

"Why the fuck did you volunteer for night duty after you’ve been out all day?” “Fancied it. Haven’t done night watch in a long while,” Jamie lies with a shrug. Bloody Liam. He should have asked someone else. “You don’t do it because you fucking hate it and you’re a fucking runner. Try again.” “I don’t hate it, I just…” prefer to sleep except he can’t say that because right now, he’d rather do anything but sleep. “Just what?” “It doesn’t matter. I was too wound up to sleep, figured I’d make myself useful. Liam’s gonna relieve me in a few hours. No need to make a thing of it.” Roy doesn’t reply immediately, instead he stares, his eyes narrowing as if he’s reading and squinting to make the words clearer for his old man eyes. “No,” Roy says. “The fuck d’you mean, ‘no’?” “I mean no. You’re coming with me.”
