#project hail mary #ryland grace #rocky #project hail mary spoilers #Celebrating the first week of the PHM movie with a silly comic.#Wiping a tear of joy in my eyes to see how many people have been out to see this movie and enjoyed it!#I started relistening to the PHM audiobook and it's been amazing for my productivity.#Originally I had Grace standing in front of a classroom on Erid at the end...but then I did my research on Shrimp Colours...#Sad to know they can't actually see all those colours.#But we do know lots of other species (like pollinators and fish) who are looking at the world with expanded range of light.#And we do see lots of things that even other visual creatures cannot see. Three colour cones! Some animals have none at all!#I love stories and science facts that allow me to pause and think about the nature of existence as something worth examining.#And I really cannot recommend PHM enough. I'm almost sad to have been making comics and put spoilers out there.#I love how hopeful and full of love this story is. I love how the depths of scientific and personal curiosity intermingle.#Being curious is one of the most wonderful things in the universe.#And when it all seems dark and hopeless...Love will always be there.

Sigh. At least I have this.

imagine forcibly sending your second in command to space and erasing his memory and having made peace with it for 26 years but then you finally get the back the information that will save the world and you find out that he woke up all alone because the other two died on the way and he didn't know what was going on and he was so scared but he manages to make first contact and he figures it all out anyway AND he might be able to go home with the astrophysics the alien gives him and you feel a part of your heart that hasn't felt alive in decades start to beat again because he might come back in just a few months if what he's saying is right and then you watch the last log and it turns out he needs to go back to save an alien species and he is going to starve to death and you feel the grief all over again.
