I remain convinced that this series doesn’t end with Tanrak getting ordained. And it’s not because this is a GMMTV show. It’s because I just don’t believe that this is a story of a young man realizing his queerness, experiencing queer joy, and then repressing it to join the priesthood. I think it’s a story of finding the courage to step outside of something that has provided a strong sense of comfort and safety. Of finding the courage to rethink your belief system, and the grief that comes with that. And of choosing a life of love and joy, as opposed to the promise of an afterlife of love and joy.

it feels like gege forgotten about lots of characters or he simply used them for what he deemed was important either way, minor characters will always have a bad treatment in shonen (that i know of) because for another reason that gege is a plot driven person too....

considering that he wants to wrap up the manga as best and soon as he can i dont see him dwelling too much on background characters :/

yeah sometimes background character are just that: background characters. not every character has a continuously important role. some character have an important role for a single arc and then disappear into the background. if you wanted to make every single character consistently important throughout a story, you would end up with an unreadable mess.

utahime can once again become important at a later point in the story, but it’s not absolutely necessary. gege may not have originally written her as an essential part of the story, so her fading into the background would be inevitable. unless he does something later on that establishes her as vital to the storyline (small or large), we most likely won’t get much else on her character.

she needs a role, and she currently doesn’t have one.

I think you might be on to something when you said about Tom looking tired/thin. I noticed too in the recent photos that he's smiling but his eyes look sad? (If that makes sense). I still love him; I just hope he's ok. I don't know when he travelled back so maybe that's something to do with it? (assuming he flew; an 8+ hour flight would make anyone tired) x

Well, there's no denying that he looked tired and thin, and my initial reaction was the urge to wrap him under a blanket and feed him cookies and hot tea. But I'm sure there's a good explanation for his tiredness and weight; he was probably, like you said, still jetlagged from the long flight from the US to London (plus he was flying against the time zones, it's usually less tiresome to fly from Europe to the US, take my word for it). About his weight: he had to lose some kilos for his role in ISTL, I'm sure he's doing it in a healthy way, surrounded by nutritionists etc. So I don't think we've got anything to worry about, although I think it's only natural to be a little concerned about him (hey blame the mother's instincts), but I'm sure he's doing just fine ;)
