hey hey, how about #27, about layers
For digital artists: how many layers does a typical piece require?
I merge a LOT and don’t really keep count, but I definitely use more than 10 layers.

So you said the No End world has stopped celebrating old holidays like Christmas, do they have any new holidays of their own?
Some do celebrate Christmas and other “our” old holidays (although it’s clear that No End doesn’t happen anywhere in OUR world, it’s an alternate universe sort of a deal, I think: their world is exactly like ours, just… not ours, IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN, gosh, complicated, haha) still: mostly those who still follow the religions associated with those holidays. I mean sure our very commercial Christmas (celebrated by non-Christians) has hardly anything to do with Christianity anymore, but it’s been 80 years since there’s been a commercial Christmas. Things get forgotten.I actually hadn’t thought about holidays in the world of No End before receiving this ask, so THANK YOU. Made me think for a bit. All I knew is that religious holidays still get celebrated by those still following religions (and there aren’t many since I think an apocalypse can be a test of faith to anyone believing in some sort of 'god', and the military doesn’t ‘uphold’ any religions. Also new religions have arisen in their stead, including a crapload of different sort of cults). There is one particular military holiday that is celebrated sometime in July, Cascade Day, which is a memorial day for the day 80 years ago when the military fired a couple of tactical nuclear warheads at the biggest cities to stop the undead flooding out; to stem the tide a bit. Military thinks it probably secured the victory for human kind in the end, which is why they celebrate it. The celebration is almost strictly military only: they do a march in full dress uniform with a band and all and once sun has set, they set off a couple of fireworks (only in Zeus where there is basically no chance of attracting an undead horde because of the noise). Military families gather together for a dinner probably. Civilians can of course enjoy the show and celebrate alongside the military, but they don’t really have anything to do with it.They probably do have more holidays and old holidays may have morphed into new ones, but I need to think about it more. It hasn’t come up in the comic (and likely won’t come up, although there is one cult that will show up in the comic!), but I like worldbuilding and I like knowing these things because I can BUILD ON THEM. So thank you for this ask, hopefully it wasn’t completely disappointing.- Kromi
