Some more flight rising fan art. I love the auraboa! This one is based off the mochus and riopa ivory colouration. Tertiary gene paradise but this colour scheme doesn't exist and sort of got some contour pattern in there too.
This was going to be based on moon colouration, but I suddenly wanted to play with gold markers. I thought of the phrase above, and this was the resulting design. 6 wings makes her a seraphim, yes?
Personally I think he is a solid interesting and complex character, but also fun and very stylish (I love his character design, aaaaa). I really like his tragic story and how he played such a big role in Fey's family drama. He is awesome. It was so touching how he saved Maya and Pearl.
Though, not to spoil anything, I didn't like the twist with blood, as it usually is dark in tone, you know. But, well, we have what we have.
Oh my, that game. Beside the silly fillers with Luke Atmey and restraunt case, it was wonderful, the Dahlia drama, a little Pheenie, the Bratworth, ungh, love it!
And I almost forgot how amazing it is to draw on a craft paper, ahhhh. A saturation of my feltpens is tastefully turned down, a white marker looks great. I want to draw more AA characters this way, it's inspiring~
How did I draw these (they’re kinda bad so imma put them under cut)
all of these are drawn by memory lmao
Uhh so we have marker, strawberry marker, chocolate marker, vanilla marker???????,white marker, prince marker, dropout marker, water fall marker, obelisk marker I think ,that one fuckass marker with the roses, strawberry marker again, difficulty chart marker ,wild card wip before remembering the thang doesn’t look remotely like that, wild card marker, flower marker, black hole marker, white marker again, and then the rest is my object oc BBP!!!!!!!! Yay
A nearby friend sends his 16yr old to my place to borrow some art supplies she forgot this weekend. Aaaaaand of course the first sketchbook she peeks in has this cursed series I started in spring. Hilariously these exist because of a 3yr argument over O'Keefe with this girl's dad. He's a professor of media arts btw. She knew immediately it was a play on O'Keefe. This was a really fun vent.
Though pulling out the art supplies and talking with a young woman about art inspired me to actually play around with these texture tests. And get my butt on making art again in general.
I'm not going to lie. This year was rough. It left me angry from several directions. I put down the pencil for months. It's time to get excited about creating again. There's a lot of anger that needs to come out. It's been backed up way too long
Regular markers: I don’t know why I called them regular. But it’s just the markers you got as a kid to color your drawings with. I don’t really have a special type of brand that I like. I got the twintips myself because they reminded me of when I was young. And the scented markers are bought at a drugstore because I needed new ones and ask my mom to look if they had any. They’re great, lovely for on paper, less lovely for writing over pictures.
White markers: SO LOVELY! Best thing I ever discovered. I use them for traditional art pieces as well. I got the edding markers from... a stationary store? Waaaaay before covid even existed. They last long. They’re nice, you have to shake them and do the thing where you have to press the tip to get the paint to come out. I love them!
The gel pens I rarely use, but they’re nice to write over pictures sometimes, or to scribble out names on magazine-pictures and such.
Lastly the Faber Castel white markers. The paint/ink is less thick and not as dense. So I often have to go over the lines a few times. The tips are smaller though, so it’s nice when I have to write small thing, or to write stuff that doesn’t need to be super visible. Also they have a calligraphy tip, brush tip, and a regular bullet tip.
Aqua markers (aka old school stuff): I got these when I was 14 or so... maybe even longer ago. There was a sale at an art store in town and they looked nice. The colors (except for the blue one) are vibrant, and they don’t bleed through the pages. Only downside is that from all the ones I got, two of them already had like dried out tips on the small-side (there’s a big tip on one side and a smaller one on the other) so that was sucky, but maybe because they were already a bit old from the store where I got them? Idkkk... Still love them!
The brush pen is ecoline based but pretty much looks the same. The tip is a brush tip so nice and soft. I find the color to be a bit less saturated, but when scanning in pieces it’s not really a problem at all.
Black markers: Verrryy important. (to me at least) The elementary school pen is basically a ball point pen that you can fill with regular ink patterns. (like a fountain pen but with a ballpoint tip) it’s small so easy to use. And I don’t know I just love it. The ink dries a bit slow but that’s nice because then I can smudge it if I like.
Regular pen is just a regular ball point pen. Which always looks nice. No need to explain.
The SHARPIE. O m g. I bought sharpies online. (because yknow, lockdown) and I hate them. I hate them so much. Used on surfaces, they’re not black, it’s dark blue. WHY? On paper they bleed so frigging much. Like... even with super thick paper it just.... goes..... through....?????? NO. I got three of them, if anyone wants them I’ll give it to you, just free me of them because I know myself and I will not buy new ones till I’ve finished these. (that’s a lie, the annoyance is too high I won’t be able to live with them that long. I’ll gift them to frineds or smt, just force them to want sharpies) The original use was to write over pictures, but the tip is so thick. It just kills me.
Permanent marker. My bby. Love it. Solid tip, not too thick, not too thin. Cheap. Black. Very black. Bleeds. But not too much. Smells nice and sharp. Dries quick. Perfect.
‘Calligraphy’ markers. Well imma be impressed if someone is able to calligraphy with those. Not to say they’re horrible. But they kinda are. Still love them bcs they’re also very very cheap. (80 cents for three of them I believe) The tips are often broken when you get them. But for messy ugly art it’s perfect. Very black. Don’t bleed through pages. Different sizes.
Fineliner.
More paint markers.
I got these posca markers a while ago after my birthday. I was very curious. I once borrowed them from an art teacher and I loved them. She sort of had a love/hate relationship with them. I now understand why.
They’re nice to write over pictures. The paint covers well. Dries quick. Looks neat. My scanner despises the pink. The red is a bit too.. tame for my taste. But all thing considered these are nice. The tips dry a bit when you don’t use them, so when you pick them up after a while it takes some time to work with them again. (A lot of shaking, pressing the tip on paper to get the paint to flow, repeat) But it’s worth it in the end I guess?!
Pencils and wax oils/crayons speak for itself I think ;)
Hope this was a bit interesting and/or helped some of the questions.
