‼️ DECAYED & DECREPIT SPOILERS for the newest episode.. I wanna talk about the hostel group.. and saps.. and jawn’s group a little too (as mainly a saps viewer but I watch everyone’s POVs too if that makes sense)
So. I’ve seen a lot of people talking about how the hostel group (I consider this group to be only Flux, Thomas, Magic, Stella & Pili) are all very protective of each other which is extremely evident in all of the vods if you’ve watched.
And that’s fine, that’s awesome, that’s great! But what I don’t like is how they’re slowly starting to turn into the very people that they were originally against. (Woogie & Jawn) That’s what I’m thinking is slowly happening to them (mainly with Flux & Magic)
Magic has been reasonably aggressive towards Woogie & Jawn because they killed Chuck. I love Chuck he was my favorite character before his death if that isn’t already obvious but I still think they’re being way too harsh towards them. Woogie killed Chuck on accident because of the infection taking ahold of him. (Having said that I still think it was stupid of him to shoot Chuck and then be like ‘he died?? how??’ lol but I guess infection does make them act irrational so yk.. anyways.) Jawn lost both Jophiel and Cyn in one day. How does the hostel group react? They go to loot their body.
Atleast Jawn, Cyn & Jophiel showed remorse after killing Chuck. Though I do think they were very very wrong about how they spoke towards the hostel group after first finding out about his death, I understand their reactions, they were aggressive towards the group (mainly jawn) and very defensive. While I think that was clearly just them acting out in defense, obviously hostel group doesn’t care. They just see Jawn being aggressive and think ‘oh well he clearly is just as bad’
When Jawn’s group were alone they talked more about Chuck and Cyn’s book I think elaborated more on how they felt guilty. At this point you might now say ‘well the hostel group didn’t kill them so’ True, but they did act very hypocritical. Jawn said to Cyn & Jophiel that he would be willing to sacrifice an innocent to save Woogie or any of them if he really had to. A lot of people don’t like that but I actually do because at least he’s willing to admit it. He cares about his friends and his family and he’s willing to do anything for them even if it means hurting people. Hostel group is the exact same way, (magic and Stella saying they’d burn the city down for each other) but they obviously get mad at Jawn for defending his friends knowing damn well they would do the same thing if it were one of them in that position.
sorry this is getting so long and I’m getting off track none of that really matters ANYWAYS going back to saps (what this was originally supposed to talking about before I got distracted talking about jawn’s group)
Saps has been eager to help the hostel group for the longest time. But keep in mind : during this episode when they were all running around, THEY WERE IN A HUGE GROUP. THEY WERE ALL STICKING TOGETHER AND RUNNING AROUND. Flux kept getting annoyed at saps for getting off track but he was so obviously overwhelmed (also his original cure took 2 years to make) THATS PROBABLY WHY HE WAS SO NERVOUS ABOUT REMAKING IT. Then they proceeded to rush him and he messed it up (saps admitted in his after stream that the potion was messed up, Magic’s probably not cured but we won’t know what it did until next episode)
They used Saps just so they could get a cure for Magic, refused to give him back the vial that he made, stressed him out the whole time he was making it and and flux even threatened to kill him if it didn’t work (NOT TO HIS FACE TO BE CLEAR) and I don’t remember the exact quote but he said something like ‘if it doesn’t work I’ll hunt down the doctor myself’ BRO. don’t pmo I’m sorry I’m gonna get emotional because THEY MADE ME SO MADD I think they said they’re gonna go look for the doctor tomorrow (next episode) but honestly? I don’t want saps to help them. I think he’s still going to because he wants to test on people but I really hope he doesn’t stick with them anymore.. they do NOT care about you Saps (also I’m not 100% sure but I think Stella might actually be dead.. and she was kind of the only one in that group that saps actually cared about.)
I do want to point out one more thing about Jawn though because he was kind of doing the same thing at the end (pressuring saps for a cure as quick as possible) but he wasn’t really doing it to the same extent as the hostel group imo
I love Gray though she was really cool, love her and meagon and rotation AND snowbird idrk if he counts as their group he kinda just wanders around in everyone’s group but snowbird is actually so cool I could rant abt him too but I wont right now.. Saps would be much better off sticking with that group tbh they seem way more rational to me (yes im aware what happens in their POVs but… compared to the hostel group and Jawn’s group right now I think they might be the better choice)
also saps and grey 100% had a father daughter dynamic that episode idgaf if saps is only using her to make sure the cure works.. they’re such a good duo
tommy would’ve been cool to add to that too.. found family trio pt2. because tommy compared saps to his dad in his book but idk if Tommy’s ever coming back so.. 😭
anyways TLDR ; hostel group is self preservative, maybe a little selfish and hypocritical to the point where it’s hurting others, saps doesn’t trust them anymore (and he has every right not to)
OH YEAH I FEEL LIKE I SHOULD SAY THIS IS ALL ENTIRELY ABOUT THEIR CHARACTERS I DO NOT HATE ANY OF THEM I’m just talking about the characters man 😭
