I started this blog back when I was 19 years old.

It was Book of Reid then.

It filled me with so much joy for years and I made lifelong friends on here that I still talk to even now. I watched it grow to thousands of people waiting for my next post. It was overwhelming and exciting at the same time.

I turned 30 just a few weeks ago.

For the past 5 years my life changed. I met my husband. Got a dog together. Worked as a youth care worker and as a teacher. Moved to a different state. Became an incredible cook and baker.

And somehow my love and passion for writing was put on pause during that time. I was too busy for it.

I've spent the past few hours looking back at my old writing. And there was so much potential, so much talent that could have been so incredibly beautiful by now if only I had stuck to it.

I reread and see where I would have changed the wording, or where I would have gone in a different direction with plot points. It's kind of funny in a way.

This year I am going back to my roots. I am committing to writing once again. No more doomscrolling.

I don't know where I'll start, or if any of the writing will make it onto this blog at all. Tumblr in itself has changed so much since the last time I used it. It seems so foreign to me now.

Anyways, I guess I just wanted to say thank you to those who enjoyed my stories when I wrote them. It was an incredible feeling to know I made people feel any kind of emotion. What a blessing you all were.

Final year of High School, the big end of year production...Namaari always participates in the theatre, but she's annoyed when her academic rival Raya (who is usually too busy with sports to bother with the theatre) gets cast as the other lead.
