Let’s talk platonic dynamics.

Whumpee and Caretaker have known each other for years, and during a difficult patching up the discuss past memories they both remember VERY differently. Because Caretaker knows that Whumpee was the one who ate their leftover cake while Whumpee knows that Caretaker gave it to them specifically, so the discussion is heated.

Whumpee’s injury is very similar to one Caretaker had years ago, and now Carefaker won’t stop calling Whumpee their “Boo-Boo Twin”. Well this “Boo-Boo Twin” is about to give Caretaker another boo-boo to get them off their back.

Whumpee is twitchy while Caretalker is patching them up and Caretaker is getting agitated. Light insults pepper their conversation until the conversation is just creative insults being tossed back and forth, the time flies and Whumpee is patched up and finishes with blowing a raspberry at Caretaker and Carryaker returns it.

Whumpmas in July 4: Favorite Whumpee/Whumper Dynamic!

Whumpers who relish in the control they have over Whumpee has always been my jam. Maybe in a creepy way, maybe not, but Whumpee is completely at their mercy. Will Whumper show mercy? That depends on the state of things... 

I love Whumpees who struggle between holding onto their defiance and pleasing Whumper just to avoid the pain. It hurts so much and they just want it to stop, but they can’t give Whumper what they want. Who knows where that slippery slope could lead? The internal dialogue that goes alongside that conflict is just *chef’s kiss* 

But those two traits put TOGETHER? The frustration and anger and pain over who will prevail in the end is one of my favorite story elements. There’s just something about being unsure in the face of danger, but still holding out against it that’s so interesting and fun to read and write. I don’t know if controlling whumper and defiant whumpee is played out or not, but I love it all the same!

obviously a big whumper + small whumpee dynamic is fun but i don't think I've seen any appreciation for small/weak whumpers + big/strong whumpees!

whumper who gets by on intelligence, intimidation and/or charisma instead of strength or physical threats-- or at least physical threats from THEM

whumper who never actually lays a finger on whumpee. that's what henchmen are for.

if whumper DOES lay hands on them, it's more torture technician than brute force.

a whumpee who could easily take out the whumper if they weren't restrained, drugged, etc. of course, whumper is never going to let that happen… but the threat of their roles reversing is always present.

whumpee who shrinks into themself, trying to appear as small as they feel, while the whumper seems to loom over them

whumpee constantly on the ground, on their knees, sitting, etc with the whumper over them, ensuring their physical dynamic matches the emotional one

a whumpee who gets uppity and gets their neck or hair grabbed, dragging them down to whumper's level, shutting them up instantly

prince and knight situation. this could be it's own post tbh… so many ways to hide the damage under all that armor!

big, snarling, well-muscled whumpee who no one can get near suddenly shrinking back from someone half their size? someone who can silence them with a word, or just a glance…? instant whumperflies.

guard dog whumpee. enough said.

a weak whumper who could never control whumpee physically-- but they don't need to bother. fear, threats against other people, manipulation, etc work just as well, if not better.
