there is nothing more humbling than failing a captcha test
found out I was putting my stethoscope on wrong why is there a front and back to them
A study in dichotomy.
Listen man, I can deadlift like 300lbs. I can back squat at least 3/4 of that.
I can kill you 95479687485685939 different ways using only my body. I barely need half a second before I can identify all of those ways.
I can turn virtually anything into a weapon.
I can bench press more than my entire body weight.
But I am SMOL AND SUBBY and dainty and need to be loved on and slammed to my knees and told to be a good girl before daddy gets mad.
having ADHD while also having anxiety is wild. like, I'll want so bad to infodump all this information about stuff to my friends, but I can't because my brain says they'll hate me if I do
“confessional” really does matter because, obviously, it was the thing that was most contentious about him in the whole nineties (and still) (hitched always to the “careerist” inauthenticity charge--his songs about himself become a problem because they are read as exploitation, but for the most part understood to be true: the problem is always that he is a man singing about his feelings) but also because it conflicts with some of his own framing & that article’s framing re “rock songwriting,” and it’s kind of the same problem i see at the heart of power pop... like unfortunately i kind of find that review’s call out of the eagles compelling, and art might agree, “this is archetypal songwriting.” but he was still named as “confessional,” which was a category that really did emerge in the nineties to account for women becoming songwriters outside of kitsch. women and art alexakis. where did he GET it though, what was he listening to that influenced him to write extremely bare songs about his literal actual experiences and feelings? who was doing that in the eighties?? (stuff like “13 years” is a much better example of this than most everclear and evidence that he had been doing this longer than he can be said to have been exploiting it to sell records)
hey if you disagree with someone you could always:
walk away
ignore them
block them
report them
you should never:
doxx them
send them death threats
bc guess what? it dosen’t matter how shitty that person is, unless they are breaking the law you should just AVOID THEM. if they are doing illegal things then go ahead, alert authorities. but other than that just block them and move on with your life.
Currently trying to write a long Elia Martell x Baelor Hightower AU fic, exploring their life together from right after their first meeting and going through a couple decades of their marriage, and I’m running into a weirdest roadblock figuring out who their four children will get married to.
For the two youngest, a girl (born circa 286) and a boy (born circa 289), I’m thinking Edric Dayne (b. 287) and Alysanne Bulwer (b. 291). Edric for obvious reasons bearing Dayne and all that, and Alysanne since she is the head of her house Bulwer, a Hightower bannerman, after her father’s death.
For the two oldest, a girl (b. 276) and a boy (b. 280), I’m not actually sure. I’d imagine that it won’t be difficult to get the daughter married to some lord paramount (but I’m not sure I like any of the potential prospects), or take a daughter of a lord paramount as a wife for the son, but there seems to be a shortage of daughters of suitable age. Sigh, this is more difficult than I though.
I guess my perception here is affected by the fact that I view Ella’s two older children as esstially “Rhaenys” and “Aegon” (except for the fact that they weren’t born from Rhaegar, which is only a plus in my book), and I love Rhaenys x Robb and Aegon x Margaery, but in this AU “aegon” and Margaery will be cousins, and I’m highly doubting that “Rhaenys” will find herself/will want to go to the North.
Why is this difficult, sigh.
