Whumpmas in July Day 26: Describe your favorite type of whumpee.
Strong, stoic, conditioned, with limited self awareness.
The type who truely believe that everything that's happening is justified; it's training, it's punishment, it's making them "better", "stronger", "useful".
Whumpees who are almost unable to show weakness or vulnerability, but are not even aware that it's out of fear - they are so disconnected from their feelings that they would not be able to figure that out on their own.
They are strong, they are well trained and highly skilled, if they wanted to (or were told to) they could likely kill whumper (and/or caretaker). But they are either too conditioned or not entirely aware of this fact.
I find it particularly satisfying when the conditioning starts to waver. When the identity crisis starts, the composure starts to break, the slight involuntarily cracks in the facade that they are not even aware they are wearing.
Eventually they might even snap. Perhaps killing Whumper. But that's not the end of it... all this does is increases the confusion, the cognitive dissonance, the distress.
Even once "safe" the conditioning remains. They may withdraw entirely, or resist help.
Basically... I like living weapons... I find the psychology of both the conditioning and recovery fascinating.
